Making Trapper work in wilderness games

So, I'm running a game where there is little to no trainer combat, as the region is mostly unsettled wilderness. One of my players is a Survivalist, a class that is already helping him tremendously in this setting (as it should). He expressed interest in grabbing the Trapper feature, which could actually be very interesting for the types of encounters I've been throwing at them. Unfortunately, we realized that Trapper is essentially useless against Pokemon with the Naturewalk that matches the terrain you made the traps in (which is 95% of the time going to be the same place you find the wild Pokemon) and most Pokemon already have Naturewalk matching their habitat.

One option would of course be to throw more out-of-place Pokemon into the mix, but too much of that I feel could break the flavor of the game. Does anyone have any other ideas? I don't know if anyone else has run into something like this before. I'm hesitant to remove the Naturewalkers-being-immune part of the feature altogether, as I don't have that much experience with PTU and I don't want to inadvertently create a broken feature, although if those with more experience say it would probably be OK I would definitely consider it.

Honestly, it'd probably be fine.

I'll have to talk about cast and consider removing it from core, too.

All right, then, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the reply!
