Ok, found some more strange animals to add to the list:
-chinese water deer (a deer with fangs! or tusks, whatever)
-saiga antelope (antelope with tapir like nose)
-pacu (fish related of the piranha with human-like teeth)
-various species of sea slugs (I know there is Shellos and Gastrodon, but there are some fantastic varieties out there. Some to make note of are the blue sea slug, spanish dancer, or the eastern emerald elysia)
-flying snake (a snake that glides by flattening its body)
-jerboa (a rodent that has kangaroo-like legs and extremely large ears)
-geckos (almost any species would do; from the leopard gecko, to day geckos, to even the leaf-tailed gecko)

I am almost disappointed that no one has started making suggestions for prehistoric animals yet. I think I will post that next time I find the opportunity to do so.

I totally want to see a gryphon. By far my favourite mythical creature, and as it is hasn't really made an appearance yet.

More wildcats. Litleo line was a start (and Arcanine is sorta a tiger-dog) but Liepard is kinda derp and not what I was hoping for. A big, solid jaguar or cheetah-based pokemon would be excellent IMO.

I'm always a fan of more golems. I've always wanted a thylacine pokemon. More bears. More horses. I agree with more antelopes and a flying snake would be really neat!

More kinds of dogs. Bassets, boxers, pinschers, labradors; there are so many breeds of dogs, and we need more of them converted into pokemon!

On the subject of prehistoric creatures, we haven't seen an Ankylosaur, Triceratops or any of its relatives, or Velociraptors.

And as for mythological creatures, we don't have a Pegasus 'mon yet, and it'd also be cool to see how they'd interpret Typhon and Echidna.

No pegasus pokemon yet, but there is Keldeo for Unicorns which is...close?

Treeko is a gecko, but there are still plenty of lizardesque pokemon that could be made simply by doing a different type. We've got the Helioptile and Treeko line, but it'd be pretty simple to make a bearded dragon ground type or something.

Alright, back here again. Time for some fun.

Some prehistoric animals that I think would make some interesting contributions.
(oh, bastiodon is based off of Zuniceratops, so we already have a ceratopsian)

Dinosaurs
-Oviraptor
-Therizinosaurus
-Dryosaurus
-Hadrosaur/Parasaurolophus
-Psittacosaurus

Reptiles/Amphibians
-Estemmenosuchus (literary "crowned crocodile")
-Gorgonops
-Koolasuchus/Diplocaulus
-Tanystropheus
-Longisquama
-Dimetrodon/Edaphosaurus
-Nothosaurus
-Ichthyosaurus
-Prehistoric crocodiles (namely the ones nicknamed Boarcroc, Duckcroc, Dogcroc, and Ratcroc)
-Elginia (turtle without a shell)

Fish
-Dunkleosteus
-Stethacanthus
-Helicoprion
-Bothriolepis

Birds
-Terror Birds (any species, since they all share the same body plan)

Invertebrates
-Arthropleura
-Pterygotus

Mammals
-Deinotherium
-Entelodonts (well deserving of the nicknames "the pigs from hell")
-Smilodon
-Indricotherium
-Elasmotherium
-Glyptodon
-Leptictidium
-Brontotherium
-Platybelodon

Edit: Ok... this turned out to be much longer than I thought it was going to be. There are some more I could've added, but I think there are plenty here as is.

Sorry Nifar, but I prefer the smaller animals, such as the lizard Longisquama, or animals that lived before the dinosaurs. I just find lots of the megafauna to be oversized versions of other animals, but there are still some interesting species there.

One of my favorites that I forgot to mention in my large list is dematosuchus. I really like the basal archosaurs or anything from the Permian period.

At some point I am likely to make another list, but it will likely be of mythical creatures. After that, maybe a list of inanimate objects that could be used. There could be a list of human influences, but I don't think I will get around to it.
