Hey all, I am new to the forums, though I am very familiar to other RPG's, and am starting a PTU campaign as a GM. I found PTU a little over a year ago, and read through it all, and then started writing my campaign. (I like to write A LOT out in advance before starting any game, as I feel like it really helps the game succeed and continue over a long period of time). Anyway, because of the flavor of the game I am running, there are MANY things in PTU I don't even have to worry about, which actually has simplified the game tremendously. It is post apocalyptic- pokeballs don't exist, and each player has 1 pokemon. Eventually, they will get more, but not many, and not for awhile. And they will have to gain these pokemon through role playing a relationship and not with a pokeball. Anyway- to get to it (if you are interested in the environment and story of the campaign I can go into detail later). One of my players is playing an ex-team rocket member who has a ditto. I know that in the games ditto copies stats (except hp), but in PTU he does not. However, I understand my players desire to have the move transform copy stats as well. So currently, I am looking for an option to allow this. Perhaps I will have to have separate rules for how he assigns stat points as he levels? Another thought was if I do allow this, I will not reveal the stats he has copied, and add/subtract the stats accordingly without letting him know what was actually copied. Anyway, it is still something I'm working on, but I though I might as well find out what other experienced players may think of doing this, and what ideas they may have to make this happen. Thanks. |

all i really have to say about this is simply use how foul play works for attacks and for defenses just use that pokemon, also pls dont copy health. and remeber it a copy at that moment so increase and descrease in stat should not affect both pokemon unless itr would in anyother situation, |

The issues with allowing stats comes with it being able to pick the best starter for each encounter and always being tied for best, and this is without going into the shenanigans with bosses and other high level/stat pokemon. Might be a better idea to give it twisted power so he doesn't have to worry as much about focusing on physical or special attack. |

~This~ Actually, giving Ditto Twisted Power is a great idea... we might have to do that by RAW. Ditto should already be able to manipulate types and resistances in its favor in any given encounter, letting it copy stats too is a bit too much. |

Twisted Power is perfect. Thanks so much! We tested it out yesterday, and it seemed to be really smooth. |

Looks like you found a solution that you like, but I am going to put in my two cents for anyone else who has this problem. In my games, I have my players only stat for HP, which they cannot change (until level up of course). The leftover stat points can be distributed any way they want when they transform. So far it has not really been a problem, but it does make for a very versatile pokemon. |
