We were told never to return, Shane thinks ruefully, could we get one of them to come visit us and work as a go-between? We can't use our former members of the tribe. They're banished too. But Roa did good work today. I should find some way to make something special for her.

Shane sighs and uses sign language to talk through Mystery. "There's no GOOD answer here, is there? We can't free them ourselves, we can't defeat them by ourselves, we don't want to start a war, an' the Zoroarks don't wanna see us ever again. The answer to all these problems is we're too weak for this world. We need to get stronger and fast. So whaddya' think?"

Isaac bites his lip in thought, this wasn't something he was used to dealing with, normally travelling by himself. A few moments later he snaps his fingers "Well I reckon we have two options. One is to take some time to better ourselves and our Pokemon. Find some stuff, fight it, grow stronger yada yada yada." Narrowing his eyes he leans in closer "OR we cheat. See I know this forest is just rife with Bug types. I found a nest of Beedril already in our first day here. Added one of the young to my team. So maybe she tells Mystery where another nest is and we get them to follow us and swarm the village. We move in quick during what looks like a routine attack by some wasps and try and free our people!"

Shane sighs. Beedrill were not especially known for being helpful. Besides, there was no guarantee that the villagers wouldn't have veryone tied in the open. If they all retreated to their dwellings (whatever or wherever those were) and left the prisoners in the open, the only thing they'd have left to recover would be corpses. That's even if they could get them to the village. Between the webbing that all bugs seemed to have, the fact that those things flew, and the sheer number that lived inside a nest, angering them seemed more suicidal than waltzing through the Zoroark's territory blaring the latest album from Giratina's Fools. At least you could reason with the Zoroark. Plus, that plan required knowing where the village even was.

"No good," Shane says through Mystery, "I'd be the first to fall to the bugs long before we even found the village. Don't know if ya noticed, but I'm not exactly an athlete...but I'd be willing to become one."

Isaac frowned, he hadn't thought it through "Yeah, I guess I didn't think about that cuz I could just find a place to hide after leadin them there. I don't think findin it will be too hard, I can probly do that if givin enough time. Trackin things is what I'm best at after all. But I jus don't know what to do in the meantime..." He had never really been much of a tactician, normally relying on his instinct to pull him through

Shane grimaces. Wasn't there a group of people who were FRIENDLY on this place? There were the Mankeys, the Zoroarks, and now the Tribals. Sure, there were some friendly Pokemon, but nothing organized that they could make an easy alliance with. Maybe this land just wasn't kind to those who wanted peace and weren't willing to fight. Shane clenched his fist. Well, if they had to fight, Shane was determined to learn to fight. And if they weren't any allies available, they'd have to capture and befriend more Pokemon and make their own allies.

Maybe there were more Dark-types around here. Poochyena's had strong jaws, right?

"There's a difference between us, Isaac. Ya are strong enough to survive in this land on your own. I'm not But I want to be. If we can't find allies, we'll make them. We'll become stronger. This land is harsh, harsher than anyplace back home. Let's focus on getting stronger for now. Maybe the answer will become clear. But when we get our companions back, and we will, let's become so strong we can make sure this never happens again."

Isaac smiled, Shane had just proposed to do the one thing he had been pushing for everyone to do since they got here. Adding to their team was a great idea, which is why he had caught the Weedle right after getting here. This is where he could shine. Shane was right that Isaac was strong enough to survive here but wrong when he said he wasn't. He just didn't know it yet

Walking up and placing his hand on Shanes shoulder Isaac spoke "Knowing your weakness is the first step to real strength. My pa told me that, though the old man could never realize his own weakness. I can work on finding out what lives around here and if you have problems catching anything, just let me know. My whole life up to now has been hunting things down and catching them for other people, so I don't mind doing it now if it helps."

Walking back and pulling his knife from the tree trunk he looks at it and then back at Shane "I think we may need to get you somethin to fight with soon though. Maybe we can make a sling or somethin so you can stay back still..."

Unaware of his allies' planning, Flynn has been eagerly listening... such as he can, to Leeta's guidance and trying to make... whatever passes for conversation between two languages. He seems to barely register the mortal danger anymore. Or, indeed, Dante's faceplant.

However, when the villagers become visible, Flynn starts at their presence. Schooling his reaction, he gives them a smile and as much of a wave as he can with his hands tied. He may not be the most astute of individuals, but like any good performer, he knows an audience when he sees one.

Of course, whether that's a good thing is another matter.

Zhu walks in silence, weighing their options, before speaking aloud.

"Well, I am schooled in the art of diplomacy. I'm much more useful when the target and I speak a common language, however, and somehow I doubt the savages know Old Orrese or Common." He glances at Flynn and his apparent chemistry with the young woman, and his voice softens a bit.

"Perhaps 'Savage' is a strong word. They aren't blatantly bloodthirsty, or we'd be dead by now. I just hope the others are okay. With the Zoroark tribe and the Mankey troop, we haven't exactly been leaving a trail of allies in our wake." His voice trails off when he sees the villagers ahead, and starts immediately looking for an apparent leader in their midst.

Shane nods. It felt good to have some course of action. Weapon, though. He'd never really handled one. There had been the baseball bats and tennis rackets he'd used to hit things around back home, but he'd never even done that seriously. And it was harder to hit someone who didn't want to be hit than it looked. He could practice with a sling or something though, at least until they figured out how to make better weaponry.

Another thing. What Pokemon lived in the area? Shane had a particular liking for those who were strong against Ghosts, but now the priority was getting some to bolster the ranks and improve their survivability. They'd encountered several already, but those had left them drained and been quite dangerous, more so than a typical training outing. But if the Pokemon was too easy to capture, then it wouldn't be much use as a fighter.

He looks at Isaac's knife and picks up the largest branch he can find, which he swings like a baseball bat experimentally.

Bill shakes his head at Zhu's comment. "Their language is akin to the tongue of the native Unovans in grammar structure, but the vocabulary is completely different. I can with some trouble discern some meaning, but it will not be easy. And yes, it appears we have some definite trouble keeping the natives happy, alas."
When they reach the village, he looks around interestedly, observing the natives and their habits, curious to see if it was anything like the few tribes he had read about.
