"Um, standing in the trees in a thunderstorm... bad idea." Flynn says in the voice of someone who has spent far too much time thinking about this. "Should probably make camp on the hillside to avoid flooding. I'll go into the woods before it hits to see what materials I can quickly get, but staying there... not good."

Shane lets the others talk it out, seeing as he can only provide limited input into the conversation. However, he does look up at the storm once again. So much for 'it's over there, I'm over here'! How in the world did it move up so quickly? At this rate, they wouldn't have time to do much of...anything before the storm hit!

Mystery whines and nudges Shane's leg. Rain is his least favorite weather, trumping even snow. And so, with an understanding nod, Shane withdraws him into his ball. Now, if only there was some way for the rest of them to take shelter so easily...

William looks at Flynn with a particular look on his face. "Yes, staying out on a plain, on elevated ground, during a thunderstorm, that will most certainly be more advantageous to our situation." He speaks with the tone of someone who has spent most of his life studying physics and science. "Let's just try and find some cover." He slings his backpack from his bag, zips it open and removes his longcoat, which he had stored in their while out in the desert, from it and puts it on, before slinging his bag back on. "To the forest? While standing under a single tree in a plain during a thunderstorm is ... less then sensible, I am certain an entire forest will be fine."

"Vui!" Eve shrugged in response to Mystery's question, returning to her digging as the Houndour walked back to his trainer's side and asked to be recalled.

"As long as we don't stand too close together, we should be fine... I don't see anywhere else we can shelter from the rain so we're going to have to take our chances." Dante chipped in with his opinion, picking Eve up from the ground to stop her from digging to oil-striking levels.

"Eie..." Eve sighed dejectedly, feeling like she'd been close to unearthing something cool, like when she used to dig in the flowers back home at Dante's house in Kalos. Although Dante's parents hadn't been too impressed with her findings for some reason...

Isaac looked the group over a bit before asking "So forest it is?"

"It doesn't make sense to split up again, especially considering that we've seen no other signs of life wherever we are. I suggest we go with the majority call and I'm voting forest as well." Dante chipped in with his opinion.

Flynn looks about to argue before another crack of thunder silences him.

"F-fine, let's just get going." As an afterthought, he holds out his ball for Kurt to press and return to. "L-let's just hope nothing c-c-catches fire or explodes."

"Agreed. This storm doesn't look very friendly." Zhu extends his Pokeball and recalls Najya, protecting her from any acclimate weather.

The group makes their way to the forest. The skies darken as they move, winds whipping up, and the loud cracks of thunder growing closer. Shortly after they reach the tree line the heavens open up and the torrential downpour begins. Beneath the thick canopy, however, the group is sheltered from the rain.

As they walk deeper into the forest it becomes very dark very quickly due to the heavy canopy, as if it's almost perpetual night, though the cloudy skies above certainly aren't helping things. The foliage here, much like outside, is largely red, brown, or golden yellow in color and dead-fall, dry and damp, litters the forest floor. The forest is made up of a variety of different trees, some tall with bare trunks and limbs at the top with thick prickly vines hanging down the trunk, others shorter with broad canopies and large limbs. All around the band there are sounds, rustling in the bushes, cries of pokemon in the tree tops, and louder sounds in the distance made by something larger.

Nestled snugly in Dante's arms, Eve was most gratified to get under cover just as the heavens opened. She didn't like having wet soggy fur, especially with how long the fluffy mass took to dry out. Seeing as Dante apparently wasn't going to put her down just yet, she looked aroud at their surroundings, watching this strange new place with interest and listening to the noises around her.

Dante likewise listened, though more with nervousness and apprehension than curiosity and wonder. The wet leaves underfoot make it hard to keep his balance, nearly stumbling over at one point if not for one of the group catching him. In a small blessing, there was at least sounds of wildlife, meaning that this place at least had a thriving pokémon population. With any luck they might encounter human civilization too. Dante tried to recall if any of the cries sounded familiar, knowing it was probably a long shot at best.

What worried Dante most about this whole affair was the colour of the sky. Most people thought of colour as concrete, such as grass being green and the sky being blue, but in truth these absolutes didn't exist. If this was Earth, the distance light travelled between here and the Sun must have shifted, causing the sky to change colours, except that process was meant to take millions of years barring some extreme disaster. If this planet wasn't Earth, they could be anywhere in or outside their own galaxy, an even more disturbing thought. It was hard to get back home when you didn't have a clue where you were or which direction to travel in. Dante of course, voiced none of this. Either members of the group had already worked this out, or they deserved to live in ignorant bliss a little longer, given how much it stacked the odds against them getting home.

Sorry brother, I guess I'm not going to meet up with you after all...
