As the strike hit Lolth from nowhere she stumbled, he legs buckling beneath her. Anger filled the little arachnid as Isaac yelled out "You can do it girl, rip it to shreds! I trust you!" The small green bug jumps in a seemingly random direction, mandibles seeking her foe |

Grr...You hit pretty hard...for a girl, Mystery taunts. He thinks he spots something out of the corner of his eye and unleashes a belch of fumes and poisonous smoke in that direction (laced with a good amount of bad breath from spicy hot sauce), though it fails to hit anything of note. |

Lolith managed to strike an oncoming Zorua, though the dark pup's reply was easily dodged. Najya's opponent, however, struck hard against the Trapinch. As the two finished their attacks, all of the Zorua silently phased into reality, and their illusions faded. By and large they seemed quite haggard, breathing heavily, battered and with singed fur. Only Nikola and Najya's opponents seemed fresh. The cacophony that was the Zoroark Tribe's chanting have way to a chant, in time with the drum beats. "Zor! Zor! Zor! Zor! Zor! Zor!", they chanted, but the meaning was lost on Mystery. The Alpha watched with a discerning eye. It looked as though he expected something to happen... |

Najya braces herself for the oncoming attack and glows with a white energy as the Zorua's claws viciously tear at her sides. She stands there covered in wounds, just barely staying upright on her wobbly legs. Zhu stands there seemingly unperturbed, but his worried eyes betray his true feelings. Upon seeing Kurt down his first opponent, Flynn leaps forward into a handstand and kicks forwards as if shadow-boxing. "Yeah, that's it!" He then sees Nikola's opponent looking at Kurt aggressively. "Not out of it yet, though, keep moving!" Kurt turns around and meets his new opponent's gaze. I was going to leave you be, he says, almost cheerfully, but if that's how you want it... A small ball of energy shoots from Kurt's head-horn, going for the leering Zorua. This done, Kurt teleports across the arena and beckons. ...then let's play! |

Najya's opponent regarded him curiously, not quite sure what to make of all this glowing light. His prey didn't usually light up when he hit it... The little Zorua growled angrily at Kurt, but couldn't get to grips. The ground beneath it was just too unstable from that damnable Trapinch, which was glowing with a strange light... "Ru?! Ru?!" Play?! Play?!," the Zorua growled angrily...then it looked over at Flynn, and a devious grin took shape on its face. In an instant, less than the blink of an eye, the Zorua was gone, and Flynn stood in its place. "Zor....Zor-rua, Zor-ru-a...." "Yes...Play, let's go play...," the other Flynn said using his voice, beckoning toward Kurt in the sweetest, most disarming voice in the world. Mystery's opponent looked battered, but all the same she struck out at the hound desperately, lunging and trying to scratch at him. |

The moment Nikola was returned, Bill stopped paying full attention to the battle, figuring that whatever happened, happened with or without him paying attention to the battle. Instead, he took the time to actually, properly, think, use the deductive skills his father had hammered into him, Always double-guess, always check the facts, never take anything for granted and when you have made your own opinion, your own hypothesis abuot something, keep digging for information until you have, beyond reasonable doubt proven or disproven it. As such, he took another close look at the wallpaintings, his mind working in overtime as he made several important connections. The first paintings, near the entrance, they depicted fights, battles like this one, really. And the human, the victorious one, was holding a spherical object over his head, as would one with a Pokéball after a succesful capture. I though this to mean that you could capture the Zorua once you had finished fighting him, but perhaps... His eyes wander the cave he is in, doing his outmost best to ignore the blood-thirsty Zoroark and taking in the several paintings depicted on the walls. Zorua and Zoroark, travelling alongside a human, most likely a trainer... And if I am right, these same Zoroark eventually return here, to there tribe, and receive... "Uxie's blessing! Of course!" Bill calls out in surprise, mind now working overtime. Freedom or death was meant for us, not them. While we will perish if we lose, they will gladly follow along with us. It is akin to a rite of passage, or a sign of wisdom and power for them, to have travelled alongside a human trainer. In that case... His eyes lock onto the Zorua that had taken out Nikola. who had by now taken the form of Flynn, and his right hand reaches towardds one of tthe Pokéball on his belt, a personal creation, which, though in the standard red-and-white for Basic Balls, is covered in several holding runes that were once used to capture and maintain Pokémon, though these once were merely for show and inactive. With a deft flick of the wrist, the ball goes soaring through the air and hit the Zorua straight on, absorbing the vulpine in a ray of red light before falling to the ground, shaking slightly. "They can mimic US?!" Dante said, somewhat surprised by this turn of events as one of the Zorua assumed the form of Flynn. Oh man, now he wanted one even more. Judging by Bill's actions, Dante wasn't alone in this line of thinking. "Eve, change of plans! Lend some assistance!" Dante retrieved an empty Pokéball from his belt and lined it up. Well, time to get lucky... he threw the pokéball at Eve's blinded opponent, praying he didn't miss and leave Eve open to another attack. The Eevee frowned, wanting some payback for the claw marks on her side but let it go as ordered. With a flourish, Eve clapped her forepaws together three times. Across the battlefield, Mystery started glowing for a few seconds as Eve's Helping Hand gave him a boost, the Eevee winking at Mystery with a sly grin on her face. |

Flynn, well, other-Flynn, was still beckoning sweetly towards Kurt. Out of the corner of its eyes it saw the pokeball coming toward it, and it had a look of terror on its face. It tried to dodge out of the way, which entailed Flynn dropping to all fours and leaping away, but it wasn't fast enough. Bill's pokeball struck Flynn's doppelganger in the stomach. The illusion disappeared and the Zorua, now revealed, was sucked into the ball. It shook violently once and fell still. When Bill threw the pokeball the Zoroark Alpha bolted upright, a look of stunned recognition on his face. The rest of the Zoroark fell eerily silent. Even the drumming stopped. The silence continued as Dante threw his own pokeball. Eve's opponent was still clearing sand from his eyes and didn't see it coming. The ball struck, and it didn't even so much as shudder as the Zorua was absorbed. ((Never said it was Flynn's pokeball, just that you captured him. But I added in a little recognition for you. That good? I'll hand out the Zorua after the whole battle is said and done, if that's okay with you folks. :P))

((Flynn didn't throw the ball, Bill did! Give me recognition, dammit! :P)) Bill nods as he throws the ball and the crowd seems to ... stop. As I thought. He smiles as his Pokéball locks up and the Zorua is caught. He nods in approval as Dante follows his actions and catches one of the Zorua for himself, glad the other boy had caught his meaning. |
