Shane ignores the sand for the moment. He has a much more important concern on his mind. His camera! What in blazes...did anything happen to it? If this sand got into the internal workings...

He gulps and pulls it back out of the little holster at his side. Well, it's certainly COVERED in sand, much like everything else is, but it seems that nothing actually managed to get past the casing. The lens cover is still on. Out of curiosity, he flips the power on to check the last recorded video. Its a blank black screen with the sounds from the events leading up to...whatever that was playing from the speakers. Shane groans. No wonder the lens cover was on. He forgot to take it off in the first place! Stupid, stupid, stupid but very lucky!

He sighs heavily and sinks backwards. Storm brewing... RED grass... Huh. Certainly don't remember falling down any white Buneary's hole. What region even has red grass. Idly curious, he pulls out his Poke-dex to check.

As Dante slowly started to shrink the distance between the hopefully human body he spotted and himself, he couldn't help but speculate on whatever happened to bring him here. Could a Pokémon have done that? Could any man-made technology have done that? Dante looked up at the red sky, trying to determine what time of day it might be. Was that a sunset in progress up there or the natural colour of the sky? The latter could indicate that they'd moved to another planet... that w- naah, that couldn't be possible. It'd be pretty ridiculous to say the least.

Maybe the person he was heading for was someone else caught up in the event that had brought him here. Perhaps it might even be...

"ISAAC!!" Dante called out again, watching for a reaction from the person in the distance, his cry joined by a loud "VUIIE!" from Eve at his side.

Shane

As Shane flips open his pokedex the first sign something is amiss is the irregular static playing havoc with his screen. As he opens the navigation app he sees two very disturbing words playing over the screen. Two impossible words that should never be seen on a pokedex.

Connection Lost.

Dismissing the message, the map shows his last known coordinates and seems convinced that he is on Mandarin Isle, though the magnetic compass is working, so that's something. Upriver is North, the mountains, foothills and storm clouds lie in the east, downriver is south, and the forest is west. A quick search tells you that no known region has red grass.

As Shane looks about, a clap of thunder first catches his attention. That stormfront...meh, it's nothing to worry about. It's over there, and you're over here, after all. As he looks about he notices that he is at the low point in the surrounding area. Makes sense, since he's on a riverbank and all. A few insects chirp, some fish jump in the river--including one that looks suspiciously like a Magikarp--and then he hears a decidedly human voice shouting from off to the north, 'Isaac!' Tracking to this sound, you see what appears to be a person standing atop a hill and heading towards you. Mystery takes no notice of this as he is far more concerned with, what he believes is a fast approaching and dangerous storm. However, a second shout of 'ISAAC!!' and 'VUIIE!' grab both of your attention.

That's definitely a person, definitely approaching you, and definitely worried about someone named Isaac.

Dante

As you approach the river, you notice the person by the riverbank seems to stand up and look at you. The person doesn't look like Isaac, not at all, but from this distance it's hard to tell for sure. They don't respond either...but they do appear to have a black pokemon with them.

As you muse about your present predicament, though, you run through a few ideas.

Could something man-made have brought you here? Surely not! Stuff like that would be all over the papers, and you were in the middle of a desert, not a lab! And besides, you don't even know where here is!

What Pokemon could've brought you here? Well, some of the big names stick out, since they get to break rules all the time. Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Celebi, Deoxys...but you didn't see any of these fellas. Arceus and Dialga, and maybe Deoxys could've moved you through space, but you didn't see them in the desert. Arceus, Palkia, and Celebi could've moved you through time, but you didn't see them either, and there was never any red grass and red skies in the past! Arceus or Giratina could've moved you to another dimension, but he wasn't mucking about either. And without knowing where, or when, you are, it's hard to try and pin it on someone...

Is the sky always like that? And what time is it!? Well, considering you've been watching the sky for all of ten minutes or so...who knows? If it's anything like Earth, though, the sun is high above you, and according to your compass it's slightly off to the west, so it would be some time after noon, maybe around 1pm-ish...assuming where or whenever you are has 24-hour day and night cycles...

Isaac

You come around a bend in the forest just in time to see what looks like a person descending a hill. Shortly after, another shout of 'ISAAC!!' followed by a 'VUIIE!' comes from the direction that person left. No doubt that was the source, and no doubt you're not the only person-or thing-that's heard them shouting.

As you head off towards the sound, you notice something out of the corner of your eye. A single lonely tree, a short distance separated from the forest, and what looks like a person walking away from it and down towards the river.

Bill

As you walk towards the river, wondering about your loneliness, your question is answered. Off from the north you hear a decidedly human shout of 'ISAAC!!' and a less human follow-up of 'VUIIE!' Following the sound, you see what looks like a person descending from a hilltop, though they quickly pass behind another low hill and out of view. They appear to be heading towards the river, as you are, though a bit upriver from you.

Flynn

Your percussive and expletive maintenance serves to undermine the pokedex's self esteem, but does little to help its performance issues. As you try and hide among the tall grass, heading towards the figure, you see him descending his hill, shouting again 'ISAAC!!', followed by an inhuman 'VUIIE!' just before the person passes behind a hill and out of sight. They appear to be heading towards the river. ((Roll me Stealth.))

Zhu

You awake to the sound of rustling reeds and crashing water. As you regain consciousness you realize that you are laying on your back, on a strange cushion. It feels like blades of grass...though, rubbery... Opening your eyes you are met with a rusty red sky above you, with some white clouds, and the sun high in the sky.

Before you is a river with sandy banks, to your left is a small waterfall, to your right, the river bends away from you around some low hills. Across the river from you are foothills, and further in the distance, mountains. Above those foothills is an angry gray sky that crackles with lightning and echoes thunder, promising rain. Behind you the land rises gently, and there appears to be an expansive forest in the distance with a canopy of browns and yellows. Beneath you, the grass you have been laying on is a dark red. This is not the desert.

Eventually an idea strikes you. Your pokedex contains a map, magnetic compass, and GPS system that is supposed to work anywhere in the world. If you were to check it, surely it would tell you where you are.

Shane looks over at Mystery and catches his eye. He points to the Pokemon's mouth and shakes his head. No talking... Mystery lets out a yip in agreement. Together, they turn and face the quickly approaching person. Shane shades his eyes with his hand and raises the other in a casual greeting. A friendly grin and good manners should be enough to win over...whoever this is, right? And if not, well, there is always running for your life!

Well, there are certainly other people around here. Let's just hope they are friendly.

Judging the distance between him and the river bank, Bill nods to himself and gets out his dowsing equipment. It may not be the desert, but I should still be capable of finding some Shards He starts moving forward at a slower pace, meanwhile dowsing for any of the precious gems he used to do his magic he could find.

((Dowsing Rolls in the Roll Thread, assuming I can finish the necesarry 10 minutes of dowsing without being interrupted.))

As you open your pokedex, you are greeted with unusual static jumping across the screen with no discernible pattern. Opening the map and navigation app, there are two words plainly displayed across the screen. Two words that really shouldn't be there.

Connection Lost.

Dismissing this message, the pokedex seems to believe you are still on Mandarin Isle, showing a map of the island and displaying your last coordinates. The magnetic compass, however, seems to be working. Upriver is North, the mountains, foothills and storm clouds lie in the east, downriver is south, and the forest is west.

As you look around, the first thing that catches your attention, courtesy of a loud clap of thunder, is the storm front to your east. It's moving this way, and it looks nasty...don't want to be out in that. As you continue to look about you hear a faint noise off to the south...it almost sounds like a person shouting 'Isaac!' You turn to catch the last glimpses of a figure descending a hill, but what kind of figure, you're not sure. A few moments later you hear another cry, louder and more clearly, 'ISAAC!!', followed by a pokemon shouting 'VUIIE!'

Shane

As the figure approaches you're able to get a good look at him, and it is a him. Nobody you know, though, but definitely a person accompanied by a brown fluff ball of a pokemon with remarkably good lungs...

Bill

As you walk along you don't really find much among the red grass, just a shard here or there, but when you reach the river you find the mother lode. Wherever this river originates, it carries out shards aplenty and deposits them on the shores. Picking the shore clean, you continue on your way.

As you round a bend in the river you see the back of someone standing on the shore a short ways off, and beyond that someone approaching, coming down a hill. You don't recognize that person, but the closer one by the shore looks somewhat familiar...

((Bill, Dante, and Shane are now close enough to interact directly.))

Flynn

You are able to sneak through the grass unseen towards whoever is doing all that shouting, but soon you come to the edge of the grass and the beginnings of some low hills. You could go around the hill, onto the plains or by the river's shore, or over the hill to try and gain a better vantage point.

Excellent haul. Hope they keep coming like this Bill continues to follow the river after finishing up his dowsing and storing the dowsing rod and the found shards in his backpack. He continues walking, until he sees a few other persons near the river. The one moving was unknown to him, but the one near the shore seemed faintly familiar. Stopping for a moment, he shouts and waves. "Hello there!" He increases his pace until he has reached the point at the shore where the familiar person was. "Come Nikola, maybe they have an idea what is going on."

Flynn is torn. On the one hand, the figure seems to be looking for someone, so most likely isn't hostile, and it was going towards the river, so he should probably meet up with him there to see if he knows what's going on.

On the other hand, there's no cover along the riverbank and, having gone unseen thus far, showmanship demands that he make a decently big entrance.

After some consideration, he decides that probably wouldn't be a great idea, so just chooses to stroll up along the riverbank and hope he can introduce himself at a suitably dramatic moment.

As another roll of thunder sends goosebumps through him, he really hopes that whoever he meets might have something to help with that.

Isaac continues running towards the person shouting his name, Lolth shifting herself from his back onto his shoulder for a better viewpoint. As he nears the person he begins to notice just how strange this grass feels to run on, definitely not like anything he's used to. Shouting out he hopes to grab the persons attention "Is that you Dante? I can't think of anyone else who would know my name around here!"
