"I suppose it would be wise if we at least know where the Zoroark tribe is, so we can decide on a proper course of action later. I am not certain on the sensibleness of splitting up when this forest is inhabited by a tribe of trained pack hunters, who can turn nearly invisible and who appear to not like us. However, if you must, I would suggest splitting up evenly, three persons going after the Deerling, and three persons going to look for the Zoroark. We do not know what other creatures live in this forest, and I prefer not being caught completely blindsighted. What do you think?" Bill asks the group in general. |

"Well if you're that eager to go find these Zoroark I could postpone looking for the Deerling until afterwards..." Dante proposed. Not only did sending half their group to meet the Zoroark tribe seem like a very bad idea given their superior numbers, but he wanted to at least have a shot at acquiring both... |

"Well, I'd say we go see what the Zoroark want," Flynn pipes up, having been silent since his faceplant, "might as well get it over with, whatever this challenge of theirs is." Kurt looks at him with a "Ral Ralts". "Well they may try it, but if they do," Flynn replies, a dash of his usual confidence returning, "then boy are they gonna be surprised!" |

"I concur. While pursuing the Deerling seems like a very worthwhile task, I suggest engaging the Zoroark tribe first. They could give us an insight into this strange world." |

Shane and Mystery chose this point to return from their little 'conference'. Mystery clears his throat. "Takin' on a pack of them sounds like a bad idea t' me. I ain't all that strong, yet. To tell ya the truth, the thing I do best is track with my nose here. Shane and I are investigators, see, not fighters. We'll help how we can, maybe we can spot a weakness that others'd miss, but we don't have much experience on the front lines, as it were. |

Unfortunately for Dante and Eve, there are now Deerling tracks in the mud surrounding their tree. They're quite skittish creatures and they steered well clear of this area last night, though both feel confident that if they returned to the site earlier they could pick up the day-old tracks. |

Isaac stood up and began to gather his things "Well let's go out and find ourselves a Zoroark tribe, if that's what ya'll feel is best I'm not really partial either way. But don't worry Dante, we'll getcha that getcha that Deerling later" as Isaac collects the last of his things he makes sure his knife is in his sheath and sends Lolth out to sit on his shoulder |

"Well, I guess we'll get on the right track then." Dante quipped, changing the focus of his search from Deerling to Zoroark. Eve rolled her eyes, sitting on the sidelines this time. Geez, make up your mind already! |

As Shane helped pack up, Mystery sidled up beside Eve and sat down. In Poke-speak, he said to her, so what was you life like before all this happened? |

You all manage to find the tracks of the Zoroark easily enough. They start to lead deeper into the forest. As you follow the tracks you begin to notice all too late that you're being shadowed. You catch glimpses in the shadows of a number of Zoroark following you, though it seems deliberate. They want to be seen, and it's very clear that there's no backing down now. After a few hours of walking the land begins to slope upward. Before long you enter a large circular clearing surrounding a rocky outcropping. All around the outcropping you can see totems and crude fetishes hanging from poles. Many of them include bones and skulls. As you approach you see many Zoroark moving about the village. The ones shadowing you come out of the woods behind you and motion for you to continue. You enter the village through a crude wooden arch. There are numerous Zorua and Zoroark moving about the village and many shy away from you as you pass. In the center of the village you see a large, crude standing stone with markings on it, though from this distance it's hard make them out. Standing before this stone is the same Zoroark from last night, still clutching his cane. He looks as though he's been waiting for you. ((Give me any skill checks you want and tell me what they're for.)) |
