Having some problems creating char; Needing some input / help

Im trying to create a decent first time character for PTU, but trying to choose my classes for my role is boggling me. My characters backstory is built around revenge for the local gang raiding his town and destroying / pillaging everything in sight. He then joins up with another gang to move up ranks and take revenge for what had happened to him and his family. I've got his stats down to Adept command , Novice intimidate, pathetic occ edu, tech edu, and stealth.

Was looking for some input on what classes to start with, I was thinking Ace trainer for sure, and not sure what to follow with that.

And also some input on what 4 feats to start with and what 4 edges to start with.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I'd suggest Roughneck as another class, since it's one of the more "gang member" sounding ones. Taskmaster might be good as well, with your choice of background.

I was eyeing over these as they seemed like a fit for my character, any suggestion for the feats / edges that would be useful starting out?
I've been eyeing through them, but can't seem to figure a good pick that would make for a strong start, as i've never played idk what feats are worth it etc, same with edges.

Just about every feat, especially the class feats are worth investing it if it fits your build. What type of setting is this game in? Berserker is another interesting combat class if your character puts his life on the line for a battle. If you are looking to take a more political/social route to get in act your revenge there is Provocateur's focus on social abilities. Commander also seems like an for being able to get revenge by using your pawns effectively.

The setting of the game is fairly dark, all players in the campaign will one way or another all be involved in the same gang, we'll be causing havoc for the world and anyone not in our gang is fair game to us. The goal is for our gang to slowly grow in infamy till we are recognized as the most dominate and powerful gang in the area.

My character had the incident at a young age and lost his parents, so he was forced to learn survival at a young age, becoming a hardened criminal as well just to survive ( ie, stealing food, pick pocketing etc ). He is now age 20 and a semi-known grunt of the gang, and will use anybody he can to exact revenge and benefit himself, he has no attachment to anyone, is only cooperative with his gang to again, benefit himself in the long run.

So from what your saying there really isn't a wrong choice tho? I'm just trying to make sure there wasn't some feats from certain classes that wouldn't fit right, i'll have to buckle down and think I suppose on what to start with then :D.

Wall of text warning...

Class: Roughneck and Rogue are the go-to gangster classes in my mind. I guess you can always fluff Martial Artist to a more street-fight type of character if you are interested in that. Depend on how your character manage his Pokemon, there are a lot of Pokemon-related classes to choose from: Ace Trainer and Mentor are both safe picks. Ace Trainer is powerful on a personal scale while Mentor is good on a team scale because you can mentor others' Pokemon and improve the whole team's power. Then, depend on your personal preference, you can pick up any of the more specialized classes. I would say that a few of them are closer to a gang members: Taskmaster is a good choice if your character is cruel to his Pokemon. Rider if you enjoy vandalism and crushing building riding a Rhyperior. Enduring Soul, in my opinion, is very fitting to your character because it resembles mental power and endurance and someone that lost his parents on a very young age is likely to have those traits. You can also fluff Athlete(which isn't as close to your theme) to be a gangster-ish class as it has a lot of physical-dominating moves, which resembles a brute, so you can slam your opponent to a wall, mega-Sparta-kick someone through a window and so on.

Of course, you should consider what sort of characters are you building. For instance, a Roughneck/Enduring Soul is a sustain type of character who is tanky as heck and likely to be the "last gangster standing" in a battle. Rogue/(something offensive or speedy) is a more offensive-oriented build. You can even go "the brain" with classes like Trickster/Juggler/Commander. As this is your first PTU character, I would like to point out that a combat trainer is completely viable in PTU. Trainer doesn't have to sit behind and command Pokemon like in the Pokemon game and can instead be on the frontline alongside his Pokemon. Hence, it's good to consider your option early on. If you are going for a combat trainer, you should focus more on passive support as active support class means you are going to spend your action in combat to enhance your Pokemon from the back line; a combat trainer will spend most of his actions attacking so active support feats are not very useful to them.

Feats & Edges: One good thing about this system is that all feats and edges are useful in their own right. Of course, going from a super min-max perpesctive, some are likely more useful than others but there are really no wrong choice here. The most basic and common approach is to focus on skill edges and class features from the beginning.
