That's...really interesting, actually. I may pass that on to my RL group because we had incessant problems with everyone always going after the same pokemon, now we could just bid for it to settle it... |

If there are three or more it works like this Player1: 10 Player2:12 Player3:13 Player3 failed his roll and it then gos to player2 who makes it. If Player2 didnt make his roll then player1 wins without rolling |

Due to my GM being really really bad at making characters a new house rule had to be implemented where if you get shot at point blank you are going to be hurt a lot even if it normally wouldn't even do enough to inflict an injury. I don't even know how she did that little damage with a crit when my character has the basic 5 in defense... And the shooter was probably 5 trainer levels above me. On the more amusing side she has basically given up on trying to beat my Stealth checks. Stealth is like the best thing ever. |

Sounds like your GM hasn't invested enough into Perception, or into NPC's who can sense Auras. It's pretty simple to handle Stealth, unless you've been given some crazy powerful gear or you get stupid high rolls. |

Considering the fact that most of the grunts she has are too stupid to live and I'm not even sure if she gives them stats that is probably accurate. |

A houserule we tried in one game was allowing newly-caught pokémon to drop directly into your current team if it's full, sending a different pokémon back to storage. This was paired up with slightly more restrictions on when you could swap out team members (basically only at gyms and the storage place) but this only came up once, it very much streamlines early game when building towards a team you like while keeping six for emergencies. Also, it makes Heal Balls useful. We've also allowed experience training to pokémon not in the main party, to leverage the new Train the Reserves edge. Unfortunately, I found this out after dismissing the edge as useless at Master Command... I've been poking a little at how to differentiate a game I'm thinking of running, loosely inspired from Creative Destruction of Do Porygon Dream of Mareep. In short, I'm planning to drop the Psychic, Ghost, and Dark types entirely along with the Occult Education skill and all Supernatural classes, with any lingering uses of Occult replaced with General Education and reflavoured. Moves of those types known by others would default to Normal (good ol' Gen I Bite), or possibly Fairy (which I'm considering renaming to Radiant or Light). Pokémon with one of those types as secondary or otherwise non-critical to concept (like Sharpedo or Cacturne) could stay in with that type shifted out, otherwise no good. Income would also be drastically increased, plus a guaranteed 500 scrap per session for each crafting class to the class owner as well as 250 scrap for that class to each other trainer (or 200/100 for crafting edges). After two magical settings this seems a nice set of restrictions to focus into a different game feel. Messing with Types feels dangerous, but those three mostly interact with each other; I started with just dropping Psychic and Ghost, but without those two Dark is meaningless. |

Basically if you get shot point blank you take at least a tick of hit points and an injury because she couldn't see someone getting shot and not taking an injury as reasonable. |

That's really an issue of "gaming philosophy" than a mechanics problem. HP can represent more than physical vitality. I've seen people consider it an amalgamation of health, endurance, battlefield positioning, and other such things. A gunshot doing minimal damage could mean many things. If you were at full health, it could have just grazed you or put you a little off balance. If the minimal damage took you past an injury threshold, it could mean that previous attacks simply lowered your guard, then you actually took a bullet, causing an injury. Alternatively, Wounding Strike, Bleed, and Gouge are all weapon moves that would take the place of that effect easily. No need for house-ruling at all. |

First turn of a battle, releasing a Pokémon is a Free Action. That way, we don't run into the issue of trainers constantly reaching to their pockets before battle begins. |
