Changing move range

Is there any way, without resorting to homebrew, to alter the range of the moves that elementalist classes grant? Specifically, I am wanting to build an Apparition/Arcanist, going for a very dark magey feel. However nearly all the moves that Apparition gives are melee range. Is it possible at all to change that?

I don't think you can change those ranges, simply for the sake of balance. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head for this is Rogue's Cutthroat, which only applies to moves learned from the Rogue class, which could work as well thematically:
Cutthroat

Cutthroat
[+Attack] [Weapon]
Prerequisites: Rogue
Static
Effect: You may use Rogue Moves as Weapon Moves
when wielding Small Melee Weapons or Short Ranged
Weapons. If you do, Rogue Moves instead have the same
Range as your Weapon. Additionally, you may qualify
for Weapon Moves for Small Melee or Short Ranged
Weapons and resist Disarm Maneuvers when wielding
such Weapons using any Rogue Skill.

The Apparition can technically already use melee attacks at range by virtue of having Reach.
For the purposes of Arcanist though, they would still count as melee attacks and additionally, deal physical and not special damage, which frankly is more important than the range.

These are not two classes I would recommend taking in tandem.
Apparition is a Physical class, whilst Arcanist focuses on upgrading Special attacks.

What about using Shade Caller instead of Apparition? Half of it's moves are special while also boosting special attack. It has several abilities related to manipulating shadows.

There's also Hex Maniac and the psychic supernatural classes which can easily be seen as darker arts of magic.
