Hello and welcome to the official Pokemon Quick Encounters thread!
What is Pokemon Quick Encounters (PQE) you might ask?

A long time ago I made a very primitive wild Pokemon generator using a simple spread sheet. Now, with the help of my close friend, I bring to you a much-improved standalone application of the Encounter Generator.
This generator will save you countless minutes and even hours in generating a fight for your trainers. All you have to do is enter in a few necessary parameters and the program will automatically generate a selected amount of Pokemon for you to fight, allocate their stats based off the base stat relation rule as well as their nature, give them up to 6 moves if they meet the requirements, and everything else that goes into making an encounter.
This program also comes with a Damage Calculator and Capture Calculator.

What you will find when running the program.

FAQ
Q: How do I install this program?
A: Extract the folder PQE anywhere you like and run "Pokemon Quick Encounters.exe"

Q: Everything is all skewed, the text is way off on the program! What do?
A: There is a current issue when a user has their Windows program "Make text and other items larger or smaller" set to Medium. We are currently working on a solution, but as a fix you can set the settings to Small or Large.

Q: I found an error, typo, bug, or have a suggestion!
A: Excellent! Send us a report at PokemonQuickEncounters@gmail.com Please be as detailed as possible with your report and try to include a screenshot with the issue.

Q: Passives don't have as much info displayed as other things? How come?
A: Currently these items are missing some content and we will fix this at a later date. For now simply check the PTU PDF for reference.

Q: You guys are so cool, I want to give you $1000! How do I do so?!
A: Wow thanks buddy! There's a donate button on the main screen if you'd like to donate. Even a simple compliment can go a long way.

Q: "There are no Pokemon that match these selected settings?" What does that mean?
A: That means exactly what is means. The selections you've chosen are contradictory with each other. You won't find a wild Fire Pokemon in the middle of the ocean, at least not normally. There is a possibility of it being an error, and if you find that it is, please send us an email.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: We wish to implement more features and fix any errors that may occur. Once we are happy with the state of our program, we will continue our work to make even more programs to make the life of the GM and Players much easier and more enjoyable.

Q: Are there any settings?
A: Yes! On the main page click the Poke-Cog button in the lower right corner to change some options.

Hotfix! We just noticed the damage calculator did not include Physical or Special selections so we added those, and we updated the Super Effective calculations to coincide with PTU 1.05. We're working on updating the necessary changes from PTU 1.05 into our program right now and we'll have it done within the next week or so. The program is still 100% functional with 1.05 with some very minor things missing.

Hi Downloaded your program so far Love it. Just had a question about your damage calculation. In the Pdf for PTU 1.05
"Damage Formula
Putting this all together, the process for calculating
damage is as follows:
1. Find initial Damage Base
2. Apply Five/Double-Strike
3. Add Damage Base modifiers (ex: STAB) for final
Damage Base
4. Modify damage roll for Critical Hit if applicable
5. Roll damage or use set damage
6. Add relevant attack stat and other bonuses
7. Subtract relevant defense stat and damage reduction
8. Apply weakness and resistance multipliers.
9. Subtract final damage from target’s Hit Points and
check for Injuries or KO."

Level 10 Water Pokemon with 7 Sp Defense. I change the attack type to Electric and click the Spec Box then punch in 10 Damage. The total damage done to the pokemon is then 4. Now what I am not sure of is in the type chart its electric vs water is 2x effective So the damage should come out to 6 instead of 4 right? 4 makes sense with a 1.5x So I am just confused as to whats going on. I think I am just missing something. An explanation would help me greatly thank you.

In PTU 1.05, we made super-effective damage deal 1.5x instead of 2x damage. We need to update the graphic used for the type chart itself though, oops.

Ok next Question about the Capture Calculator It only toggles persistent and volatile conditions on or off but from the example in the core book it looks like they are supposed to be stackable is this correct?

A level 80 Hydreigon that is at exactly 1 Hit Point, and is Burned, Poisoned, and has one Injury would have a
Capture Rate of -15.
Math: Level (-60), Health (+30), No Evolutions (-10), Burned (+10), Poisoned (+10), Injury (+5).

I have re-read the ruling and it does allow for different status to stack. We'll change the calculator to accommodate for that.
Pg. 246 Core Rulebook, "Unlike the video games, there is no limit to the number of Status Afflictions that a single target can have."

I want to use this but all my sessions are done with my iPad, so not compatible. Unless you have secret computer fu, in which case, teach me sifu.

I see you have a Common/Uncommon/Rare designation. Where does that come from? I'm primarily interested in that because PanoramicPanda's in-browser generator doesn't sort by rarity but my homebrew random encounter chart does. Can I have he common/uncommon/rare chart? I'd have no,proficiency in prying it out of your program. Unless I hit "generate common" over and over, but that sounds tedious.

We do want to port our program over to the mobile scene, but first we want to make sure our current model is as close to perfect as possible.

For the rarities, we basically separated them out into first evos for common, second evos and no evos for uncommon, and third evos for rare.
