i wonder if STAB was included in those DB equations. Seems worth considering.

Also, the math is strong with this one. impressed.

It was not, I admit. Call it an oversight! The way Pokemon data is set up, you can refine these kinds of questions further and further until you have a very narrow thing to investigate indeed.

Still, updating the data to account for STAB also introduces some further shenanigans, particularly for type-changing Pokemon - Castform, Kecleon, Darmanitan, Greninja, etc. Not sure how one might want to consider them in an analysis like this.

Good point. Move type diversity would reduce the STAB bonus but would generally be a good thing as well. Data crunching is a complicated kind of fun.
