I'm the kind of player who roleplays his Pokemon to the nines. They usually don't straight-out disobey my Trainer, but they are separate characters. You could stick me in a corner with just my characters to roleplay with, and I'd keep myself entertained for hours.

This means a lot of the Pokemon I've had on my team over the years have had strong personalities. But one of my favorites is Ramon Alcastrum, the Gallade.

I picked him up in a trade with another campaign, because, hey, an unwanted Male Adamant Ralts with Shadow Sneak - how could I pass that up? And it took a lot of work (and help from my friends!) to get him to Gallade status. But since then, he's been a constant companion. However, rather than being the dashing, debonair swordsman that so many Gallade are... he's basically a shy, quiet dork who's trying to be a dashing swordsman.

Let's see. He's always worried about pulling his own weight; given how his original Trainer didn't ever pull him out of the Box after breeding, how hard it was to get him to his final evolution, and a few tough battles he's Fainted in since then, I think it's understandable. He's often the first to volunteer for smaller tasks during downtime, and has trouble 'just relaxing'. Sometimes during those quieter moments, he trains his Trainer in the ways of Combat skill, at her behest (which is a fun little gray-area / reversal of the usual power dynamic, to me). He's a little timid in new social situations, but he's especially awkward around females he finds attractive, including his own girlfriend (another Trainer's Steel-shifted Gardevoir). He loves Jackie Chan movies and anything about historical battles; he recently got told about the Fire Emblem games, so he'll have to seek those out soon. He's also gotten into using a two-handed warhammer we found; far as I know he's the only Gallade I've ever seen who prefers blunt weaponry.

Maybe he's not unique; he isn't nearly as wacky or crazy as some of the personalities y'all have brought up in here (which, by the way, are a hoot to read!). But I like 'im. There are many Gallade like him, statistically, but this one is mine.

Geoff, the Bulbasaur, was one of the players' starter. Geoff was very strong willed and sneaky, while the trainer character was pretty weak and indecisive. So, Geoff refused to be balled, and mostly ignored attack orders. He still helped the party quite a bit, but he did it on his own terms. He also stole a knife from a fallen bad guy early on, and became even more of a little terror.
Oh wow, that sounds a lot like my Farfetch'd, Mathilde. She was originally wild, though, but got caught after being fainted, which made her resentful of her trainer. She has a bit more of a heroic nature, though, although she dislikes cowardice and is constantly challenging her trainer for dominance/leadership in some way. She also has a weird relationship with Minke, a Scatterbug, where she both beats him up/tries to eat him, and also protects him viciously. It's adorable and disturbing at the same time.

I almost forgot to mention bidoof! A player in my game caught a Bidoof out of rage in our second session, because a bunch of shit rolls prevented him from catching the good things that came up. It quickly became the Godslayer, a heroic bibarel who was dedicated to truth, justice, and protecting its trainer.

It's token wielded a sword and shield. It was recently abandoned. :c

My campaign unfortunately didn't go very long before schedule conflicts forced me to shelve it for the time being (though, hopefully, I can bring it back out soon). However, it did last long enough that the group encountered a small mixed group of Rattata and Patrat, lead by a golden-furred Rattata. Partly because I just wanted to make random encounters a bit quirky, this group of rodents called themselves the "Woodland Mafia", and the 'shiny' Rattata talked like a mobster. I hadn't actually intended for the group to capture any of them, but after one of the players rolled a crit-capture on their very first capture roll, I just went ahead and let them have it.

He is now known as Mickey the Mouse, is a physical sweeper, acts unhappy about his new lot in life, and secretly loves it when his trainer uses her Groomer edge on him. "But don't tell no-one, or else you'll be sleepin' with the magikarpies, capische!?"

EK, its always a pleasure to read your posts. /gush

Here goes. These aren't from a tabletop, but from a free-form gritty mafia-themed RP.

There was Kaiser, the original Stefan's original starter. He was a gift from his father as a Croconaw that was scary strong (physically anyway) but a little bashful regarding his strength. This became apparent from Stefan's early attempts at catching pokemon, when Kaiser would often accidentally KO their target. Even after a few years and many levels, Kaiser had a mental block regarding evolving - he wasn't comfortable with how strong he was, how dangerous he was. He was even more afraid of what might go wrong if he evolved.

As Stefan grew, he got involved with a vigilante organization that made guerrilla style raids on the mafia. When push came to shove, Kaiser realized that his strength was needed and not something to be ashamed of. *Bam* Evolution.

Tragically, he was shot and killed by a mafia capo, kicking off a whole new branch of the story.

Then there was Panzer. Panzer was the vice-captain of Stefan's team, and with Kaiser dead, he really stepped it up. Being Bulletproof (yep), he became a terrifying power in the small skirmishes that Stefan often found himself involved in, especially as the mafioso tended to prefer guns to pokemon.

Panzer was Stefan's rock in the months following, following him faithfully as Stefan dealt with his grief. When Stefan inadvertently unleashed destruction on Viridian City, Panzer was there to comfort and ground him.

In our campaign, all pokemon that can Mega-evolve have an especially strong bond with their trainer and often some sort of craziness as a result. For instance, one of the Absols are neurotic and a little death-obsessed, because it channels its dead twin to mega-evolve.

Panzer, because of the trauma that Stefan has endured, is violently protective, even to the point of attacking people. He even gets aggressive whenever he perceives a threat from Stefan's friends - ie, when Stefan's lover tries to pull him from exile, Panzer interferes, violently, afraid of what Stefan might endure. He almost has a 'mother knows best' vibe.

I could go on, but that's enough of a wall o text for now.

Only Bulletproof Mons are in the Chespin line, so probably one of those.

Yeah. The original Panzer was an Aggron. This RP predated the Bulletproof ability in PTU but its funny how things work out.

You probably remember my character in Clay Pyramid (its in the sig anyway). CP Stefan was an expy of Swagger Stefan.
