Medical Facility Map "I wonder who they are..." Serenity muses aloud. Amidst all the celebration of victory, the group had missed a crucial detail before. The medical productions plant, now closer and more easily observed, was apparently not abandoned. There were a number of people outside the gates. They were nearly half a mile away, but it was hard to mistake a small crowd across the stark, ruined background of the dilapidated building. There were three or four of them in the distance, it was hard to tell, and they couldn't be heard from so far away but they were definitely there as clear as day. ------------------------------------------------ As luck would have it, the shipping company had made a mistake. The PDX6 Luna units that Stacy, Amber, Serenity, and Nina had received weren't the only ones to arrive that Thursday. A second crate had appeared much later, and Professor Willow had taken no delay in finding children to hand them out to, even going so far as to pull them from school to do so. With counsel from Ms. Nightingale three students were chosen to be the lucky few to next begin their journey. Travis, an energetic if eccentric young man with a wild ambition and desire to ride, was already somewhat acquainted with the man through his parent's work. Professor Willow had asked them for eggs from time to time, more often than not rare specimens that people knew very little about. Then there was Alex, a very capable boy with just as much drive as the rest of them. He had actually been suggested by Ms. Nightingale. She knew the schoolchildren very well, and it wasn't a matter of if Alex would run away to better things it was a matter of when, and she suggested the Professor give the boy a purpose and outlet to hone his raw talent and potential into skill and wisdom. And finally, Walter. Walter was a recent addition to Placid Hills High, but left his mark on the old man fairly early. Professor Willow was quite impressed with his thirst for discovery and didn't want to waste an opportunity for a budding scientific mind to blossom into a researcher such as himself, and so made the decision to include him in on the journey. The three boys had left fairly early, eager to catch their first Pokemon and take their first steps onto the road to greatness, and the Professor's suggestion of the old abandoned medical facility holding new Pokemon did not fall on deaf ears. They cut through most of the neighborhood, juking through backyards and jumping fences as they raced each other there. They even flew through Chemical Road fast enough that the wild Pokemon dare not challenge their enthusiasm. And now here they were, before the rusted, decrepit fence that walled off their promised land... and someone was in the way. It was a girl, an imposing one at that, at least a few inches taller than anyone there and clad in dark clothing. Her hair was as dark as night and short in a cropped style, and her skin was extremely pale. Her lips were colored as darkly as her hair, a burning cigarette between them, and her magenta eyes were surrounded by dark circles, glazed and expressionless... but maybe that was because she was preoccupied with the game system between her hands. She didn't look like the friendly type, and her nose was pierced and what ear they could see was filled with studs. Even in the early spring warmth she wore a black and purple-striped long sleeved shirt. Her jeans were equally dark, feeding into thigh-high boots with lots of buckles. Fishnet gloves could be seen on her slender hands with darkened nails... which was only possible with her thumbs flying over the buttons of her Digi-Man. Walter, being so new, wouldn't have recognized her. Neither would Alex, being as young as he was, wouldn't either. But Travis did. She went by the name "Raven" and had the attitude to match. A senior at Placid Hills High, Raven wasn't very well-liked and responded in kind, and it was well-known that she went against the grain and would back-talk anyone she didn't agree with to their face and even made a teacher cry once by saying especially vicious things. But that's not why most people avoided her. Rumor had it that she had strange, supernatural abilities, and that she would curse anyone who looked at her wrong. Suffice to say that she didn't have many friends. Travis was very well aware of her because she was someone who didn't hide what she really thought of his Tauros-themed outfits. ...And here she was, leaning on the fence, smoking, and playing some sort of game. And refusing to acknowledge the presence of three boys in front of her. Edited by Corporal Lance, Mar 24 2015, 10:07 PM.

It quickly dawns on Travis that he might be the only one of the trio to know who this girl is. Familiar with her demeanor, he speeds up just enough to arrive a second before his two buddies, partially to make sure that he's the one to handle introductions and partially to make sure that, should Raven decide to target someone in his group with her wrath, it's him instead of his friends. "Raven, hi!" he says, so the others will know her name, and conveying genuine happiness at seeing her. "You look so awesome today. Great that you're here! We came to look for some new Pokémon, is that what you're doing, too? What game is that you're playing?" Travis keeps his smile and braces himself for Raven's usual type of response, still stubbornly holding out in his hopes that he'll finally win her over one day. |

Amber shades her eyes and looks off in the distance. "I think I see some people over there. Edited by Web_Metz, Mar 24 2015, 08:26 PM.

Alex walks up just behind Travis panting slightly, "Hey, that was a pretty good run. Thought I had you there for a second, but you totally won it out. Best two our of three?" After a second more to catch his breath Alex turns to address the stranger in his midst, "Oh, I take it you're Raven. Pleasure to meet you. Name's Alex and I'm gonna be the best champion ever. How do you know my main man Travis here? Pretty great guy?" Alex has no idea what type of person she is and he doesn't care. He just wants to get her to a place where he can pose some kind of challenge to beat her at it. |

"Screw off, freak. None of your business," she responds immediately to Travis. Her usual retort, and she was rather fond of calling Travis a 'freak' in general. Before Alex can even say a word, she opens her mouth again. "Great. It has friends." Without using her hands, she takes another drag off of her cigarette, a skill no doubt perfected out of necessity for thumbs on her Digi-Man. All at once, the death screams and screeching wheels and gunfire coming from her game system cease and she drops it into her backpack at her feet. Folding her arms, she takes the cigarette from between her lips to hold in her hands. "Cut the act, freak. What do you losers want?" she seethes, casting an icy glare over the boys. All too happy to answer Alex's question, a smirk comes to Raven's pale face and a harsh giggle escapes her. "Oh, everyone knows Travis Tauros Toucher! We think when his parents explained 'Pokemon Breeding' to him, they didn't make it clear that he's not supposed to breed with the Pokemon." She has another small laugh at Travis's expense but her twisted sense of humor quickly fades as a she digs her system out of her bag again and a quiet gunshot is heard, followed by more screaming as she returns to her game. "Get lost. I do not have the patience to deal with you dweebs right now," she says distantly, engrossed in her no-doubt incredibly violent entertainment. Walter approaches the slowest, taking a long drink from his water bottle as he does so. "Lets not make a habit of sprinting around, I think we scared a few pokemon on our way through." He nods at Raven and lets Alex and Travis do the talking, tilting his head as she angrily responds. "Then get out of the way." He responds quietly. |

"That's funny, Raven," says Travis, keeping his smile and giving the most genuine laugh he can muster. "Got me pretty good, there. Well, if you're busy we don't wanna bother you. We're just gonna poke around the area and see what we can find with our new Pokédexes. If you need anything while we're here, just say the word, 'kay?" |

Having recalled Aglais after a bit of walking (turns out the little Wurmple isn't that fast on her own), Stacy comes to a halt a distance from the group together with Amber, this time with an unoccupied shoulder. "Oh, hey, you're right. That's people, yeah. Eh, can you recognize them? I can barely make out horns on one of them. If they're some gang, well, yeah. Don't think you can catch them in Poke Balls to calm them down. Could you?" |

Alex huffs at Raven, "Your right he has friends unlike you, you sad lonely..." Alex struggled to finish what ever comeback he had as Travis broke in using his characteristically friendly attitude. It frustrated Alex to no end that he just stood there and took that from someone so obnoxious. But he would follow Travis's lead. Never lead him astray to this point. "We'll be seeing you around. Enjoy your stupid game." Nailed it! |
