Honestly, the addition of a +1-2 Priority 40-80 BP of MOST moves would add a large amount of power to some Pokemon. Although Tyranitar wouldn't want a Rock Type Quick Attack as much as something with just 95%+ Accuracy and 80+ Base Damage if it's a Dragon Dance set. The Assault Vest and Choice sets might like the Rock Type Quick Attack though. |

As well as anything in VGC, where priority is basically king. |

@Nekomimi I was about to say that one doesn't count because Joltik gets Thunder, but then i checked and it doesn't. Not even by TM25. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS. |

I would like it known that Joltik knows Discharge. Discharge is 80BP, which turns into 120 ish BP after STAB. |

It is also capable of learning Thunderbolt and Bug Buzz (90 BP, 135 after STAB). And against particularly slow opponents, Electro Ball can be as high as 150 BP, which STAB raises to 225. Admittedly, this level of power is rare (only 14 pokémon have less than 1/4 Joltik's speed with similar builds, and another 50 or so between 1/2 and 1/4), but it's still going to be fairly powerful, even against fast opponents (minimum 60 BP, which STAB brings to 90) |

Klinklang with any kind of physical coverage. Lilligant with any kind of special coverage. Let's be extra obnoxious and give it Dazzling Gleam. |

YES I had to resort to Dream Eater Lilligant because of that, and Klinklang was totally unusable. You and I are on the same page. |

Lilligant does need more coverage, and Klinklang does too. Even if it has the boon of Confusion-less Petal Dances, it needs more than Hidden Power and Petal Dance after a few Quiver Dances are off. Although as it is now I'd still suggest Giga Drain over Dream Eater. Psychic or Sludge Bomb would also feel fitting, the thing already gets Toxic, it's obviously capable of producing toxins somehow. Klinklang is just painful, Shift Gear is such a fantastic boosting move. But then it's left with Return, Wild Charge, and Gear Grind. Give it something like Earthquake or Stone Miss, SOMETHING besides Normal Coverage. Gear Grind gets a pass due to it basically being 150 BP after STAB which also breaks Sturdies, Sashes, and Subs. At +1 that stuff hurts. Or how about Sucker Punch? Always a fun move. Even though it's already got some immense power, a bit more legitimate coverage would push Serperior over the top. As it is now? Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Dragon Pulse, and Hidden Power are your options. Why not Earth Power? Why not Sludge Bomb? Even at +2 Special Attack, Hidden Power is meh at best unless the opponent has a double weakness. Giga Drain is neat but the coverage it presents is redundant, and Dragon offensively is a bit sub-par now for actual coverage. Honestly, whenever you see a Pokemon whose COMMON set includes Hidden Power as an option, you want something better on it, plain and simple. Vaniluxe for example, it's actually got the makings to be a semi-decent Special Scarf user. But it lacks coverage and is forced to use Hidden Power. Something like Earth Power or Power Gem would go a long ways in that regards. Or Roserade. Technically it's still pretty usable right now, but you know what I'd love? Shock Wave and Water Pulse to help compliment Technician a bit. While it might not be as good on places which lack Evasion spam such as Showdown, it'd be a useful tool on say, the PPS Ranked where people start using as many underhanded tricks as possible to get ahead. How about Luxray? The thing might have an abundance of potential coverage, but it in that awkward place of being a bit too slow to do much and it's coverage moves being the Fangs and Superpower, which hinder it either by having dreadfully low BP without the boon of an Ability like Strong Jaw or Tough Claws, or lower it's offensive power. Dragon Dance or Swords Dance would go a LONG ways with this Pokemon. And another candidate who could benefit from Earthquake and Stone Edge honestly. Sorry about the fact that I just keep adding to the list, this happens later at night. |
