The sun is still high in the summer sky above Angel Circle. A few hundred young men and women mill about - walking, chatting, and dancing the steps of the first ever Indigo Freshman Social. Most of the faculty are in attendance as well. They sit at a table on a low stage near the perimeter of the lawn. For the most part they all seem to be well acquainted, conversing freely in between exchanges with the occasional, brave student.

A handful of tables line the remainder of the near half of the circle - food and clubs, from the look of it. There are also two distinct crowds at the far end of the circle, but you can't tell whats going on from this distance.

Krafft eyes the dancers with disinterest before moving on. Not really his style. He tugs at the collar of his dress shirt and sweater vest combo, glancing around for some shade. A tree, a pavilion, a large pokemon; anything for some blessed relief from the glare of the noonday sun.

He meanders his way past the clubs tables, checking for anything that may interest him. Who knows, they might have a fencing club.

Walking along the different tables, taking her time as to try and avoid being in too large of a crowd. Kate found herself stopping at a few of the clubs spaces to listen to their speech and take a pamphlet or card, being sure to pick up one from the Swim Club to check out later, whichever that they had to hand out. Observing a few of the various students, at the differences between ages and appearances. Pausing once she was away from the clubs and their recruiting members, she took a moment to slip the papers into her back pocket.

Making her way to the food table she took a small plate and placed a few small items on it. Eating while she shifted her gaze along the rest of the area. Seeing the people dancing she chuckled at some of the ones that weren't that in sync, but they were having fun. Eating some of the snacks that were on her plate she continued her scan over, before noticing that there was something going on that she couldn't make out. Lifting an eyebrow she started a calm stride towards the groups at the end of the circle to try and get a better view of the action.

Melanthe was quite used to not socializing, and was entirely out of her element at a public social. However, she still managed to find fun in her own way, namely by becoming the mysterious enigma of the social. While others would interact with their peers, say goodbye to family, or move in, she had none of that to do, having already had it done by very nervous and intense parents whom never explained why such a rush was going down with getting her situated. So, for now, she was leaning against a tree somewhere in the Angel Circle that her Nincada was clinging to, and would appear quite sullen to any observer as she read a book rather intensely. The title had something to do with Ghost-type Pokemon, and was thick enough to be an encyclopedia.

"Sickle... It says here that when you evolve...you'll also be able to use curses... Riveting, don't you think?"

"Cadanin! Nin-cada!"

She giggled lightly and smiled as she turned to look at her Nincada, hiding her smile behind her book in an expert manner before returning her attention to spectating the other students at the social. When she did so, her smile dropped again immediately, and she lowered the book a bit. She was quite aware that her height was somewhat abnormal. Most of the girls she knew in school got to five feet and eight inches at tallest, giving her a noticeable height difference that was a contention point in her interactions with her peers. She did idly wonder if that'd still apply now however, when not sketching a Bug-type Pokemon or reading into furthering her lesser known skills.

She also needed now to factor in schoolwork once more. Once she finished high-school, her parents insisted she did not continue into college (making it even more surprising when they forced her into one by applying for her and no doubt faking some credentials with their expert underhanded practices to ensure she was selected), thus meaning she no longer had to worry about schoolwork. That changed now for her, although she figured it would be an easy change.

"Sickle...I'm not sure if they allow loose Pokemon out for too long... Come back into your ball while I look at a few things, and we can hang out again later... Is that okay?"

"Cada-cada! Nin!"

She always petitioned first, then did. It was her demeanor, and instilled in her by her parents when they always asked their Pokemon before going out to perform their "Midnight Operations". As her Nincada returned to his Poke Ball, she put her book away into her black briefcase that had rollers attached to it, and extended the handle with a sigh. Interacting with people was hard for her in many ways, no matter how she felt at the time.

It was at this time that she then made her way to the club tables, to peruse any fun extra things to do. Perhaps they had a Bug Catching Club? She also wanted to see if anyone knew where she could find a Wynaut, for her own reasons. Her mother had a very loyal one, and she got to play with it a lot since it was too young to be taken on the "Midnight Operations", and she sort of missed that experience if she was to be completely truthful.

"Fencing and Battling Clubs... Interesting..."

She started with approaching the Club Tables for "Fencing" and "Battling", picking up any promotional materials they may have had. She wanted a way to practice her powers in a live environment, and hoped one of these two could help her do so. Then she began scouting for any Club Table that involved Bug-type Pokemon, catching or battling.

"A way to obtain a Cascoon or Pinsir... I should try and find one."

Moving among the other students out and about, she felt a bit of pressure at the fact that she was taller than most of them, but did a commendable job of hiding that pressure, and instead maintained her "intimidating aura" that her few friends always said she had. Likely because she was tall, others always had a more instinctive fear of her than they did of others. It was also what probably lead to her being shunned most of the time.

With a plate full of snacks and a pocket full of flyers, Krafft was just considering heading to his dorm for the rest of the day. He still had a bunch of unpacking to do, anyhow. Not that he even had that much stuff, really. As he turns to leave he spots the crowds a short ways off.

"Must be something interesting going on." he murmured to himself
"Interesting enough to warrant checking it out, at least."

He wends and winds his way through the throngs of students and their loved ones, gracefully stepping out o the way of some over excited children and expertly balancing his plate of goodies as he makes his way closer to the crowds. As he gets closer he cranes his neck, trying to see what all the hubbub was about.

A fight maybe? His left hand reflexively moves to an empty spot on his belt before sliding further back and touching Roland's pokeball. As soon as he finished the thought he realized how silly it was. Its not even the first day, and literally ALL the staff is here. Surely no one was starting trouble already?

A chance to spar?! Now that's more like it! This social just went from dull to awesome.

Krafft's free hand shoots up immediately, and he starts peering about for a likely opponent.
"Oh me! I want to go a round."

Quentin watched everything that was going on around him, making a mental note of pertinent details, things that he knew might be relevant to recall later. This party was no doubt important for the school, and he would make sure that he took part in it, but he really didn't want to spend too much time here: he had new articles to read and Andromeda had so many more things that she could tell him by her actions and reactions. If only he could have her free right now, she wasn't used to being so confined and he worried what pain it might be causing her to be stuck in there.

He headed towards the club tables, perhaps there were some scientific research clubs or even something that might allow him to find some of the other 'Star Pokémon' that he sought- they were rare enough as it was. There might even be a club to help him develop the strange sight that he had manifested over the past few months of working with Andromeda, the residue that he could see on some persons, something that he was fairly certain had to do with contact with 'Star Pokémon'. Maybe he would even find a club that would help hi to nurture Andromeda, he knew that she might need to develop and grow if he was to learn more, her lack of evolution was worrying to them both and he had to solve the problem soon.

The selection of clubs wasn't exactly inspiring, it was strange that the school hadn't managed to set up a wider variety, especially considering they appeared to have current students as well. The underdog club might be something that he could join, though Andromeda didn't exactly have a lot of strength, she wouldn't remain an underdog forever, not if he truly wanted to understand 'Star Pokémon', their evolution would be important, especially if he wanted to compare the process to other species.

Perhaps the battling club might offer a chance to really see Andromeda in action and understand how she reacted. He could compare that to the reactions and abilities of his opponents. He moved towards the club table, resolving to collect information about it, before heading to the underdog club table and doing the same. Perhaps he would start up his own club, one that would allow other enthusiasts of the stars to explore their own knowledge.
