"Okay..."
Amber sounds a little disappointed and chastised, she was excited to go out and explore and completely forgot about Miss Nightingale. Miss Nightingale has been nice to her when she did attend some of her classes, but Amber was mostly taught at home by her father.

As the group decides to pay Ms. Nightingale a visit, the streets are barren, an alien sight to those normally in class or otherwise preoccupied. Placid Hills High is a few streets down from the Professor's hilltop center of research and the walk would take less than ten minutes. The school building itself is unremarkable, but familiar all the same, visible from the Professors lab with its high-flying Soman flag. It's a one-story building, all in faded red brick with large windows facing outwards. The building isn't very large, but is noticeably sizable being a school building and even has a fenced-in courtyard where it adjoins to a baseball field and soccer field where a group of kids the group's age can be seen playing in white T-shirts and matching blue shorts. PLACID HILLS HIGH SCHOOL sits above the entryway in large, white letters facing toward the street, and the overhang holds a set of metal doubledoors with inset windows hidden in the cool shadows. More schoolchildren can be seen on the inside with various expressions, from incessant mockery and alert diligence to intense gazing into books and markedly less-intense gazing into the back of eyelids as some students doze through the teaching material.

Most would remember where the school counseling office is, right next to the dean's office just a right turn down the hallway and on the righthand side.

As they approached the school building Nina stopped for a moment. She wasn't used to seeing it from this perspective, as a guest intruding the silence, rather than a student inhabiting it. It was quite eerie to see the everyone else working in class. Well, the days she was spending inside the stuffy class rooms were definitely over now.
She turned around and looked expecting towards the others.

"Don't look at me, I was mostly home-schooled." Amber rubs her ankles together a little anxious to get going, but waiting for someone else to go in first.

"Well, what're we waiting for?" Eager to get this over with, Stacy reaches for the doorknob and turns it. He knows the school counselor only too well, having had trouble keeping up with his homework in the past. Probably should have knocked first, though.
"Miss Nightingale? We're here to see you!"

Nina hadn't been to the school counsellor in ages, at least that was what it felt like. She always felt out of her element in that office. Like she should talk about something but didn't know what. But now she was here, because Miss Nightingale had something for them and it didn't have anything to do with school, rather it was about their upcoming Pokémon adventure. It was fair to say that she was at least somewhat curious.
As Stacy opened the door Nina tried to stay in the background, but simultaneously she wanted to not miss anything. So accordingly she regularly peaked up behind Stacy and Amber. It most likely had to look quite strange.
"Hello..."

As Stacy opens the door, a wash of feeling rolls out in a wave. It felt a little like worry or intense thought, but there certainly was electricity in the air. The room looked... well, bubbly was a word. The color of the walls were sunshine yellow, happy motivational posters and student art projects, wherever they fit seemingly at random and there was clutter on nearly every surface that could hold it. The filing cabinets in the corner topped with stacks of papers and files topped with a blooming cactus plant. The angled desk was blotched with more papers and little figurines and statuettes and curious somewhat out of the way but really not, and a vase of red and pink poinsettias. There was a noticeable absence of chairs, instead there were bright sky blue medicine balls. Sitting on one of those medicine balls was a skinny figure in a robe, steepling its slender, white lace-gloved fingers together and humming bemused to itself in a musical fashion staring out the window. Technically, its garb was a chadri, an all-covering women's garment, this one having simple shooting stars stitched into the flowing base of the garment. Based on the way this figure is dressed, it's obviously Miss Nightingale.

"mmmhmm-mm-hmmMOh! Children! It is nice to be seeing you, please come in," Ms. Nightingale half gasps, surprised yet pleased. The thick feeling weighing in the air immediately dissipates as she motions with her twiggy arm to her seats... although there were only two other medicine balls. It was hard to make out if she realized this or not.
"I am sorry I did not see you before, I wasmmmmm... mmmmMMPursing...? I think that is what I mean? To, mm-mm... think with... mmm... mmmuch difficulty...?" she more or less questions rather than states, humming through her sentences as she searched for her words.
"But I am very happy for you, yes! Mmm-mm Amadeus has told me that you are going adventuring like we were and I became so- ...mmmelevated? Elevated! Very happy! I wanted to share my happiness with you!" she continues gleefully, clapping her hands like a tiny excited child. The good vibrations were quite infectious and seemed to nearly brighten the room on their own. Miss Nightingale reaches underneath her desk, humming all the while, and produces a gift basket with a neat little bow and a wreath of daisies. Inside the basket were batches of sugar cookies, bag lunches, a jar of honey, a handful of green Pokeballs, and a powder blue backpack. Inside the backpack was a medium-sized tent, a water filter, some bottles of store-bought pre-filtered water, and a strange carved stick for some reason.

"Mmm-mm-mm-mmm! These can to help you on your journey! I baked the cookies myself mm mmm with special caring!" Through her strangely piercing gaze one can almost see wetness at the edge of them, a bittersweet sort of feeling that Ms. Nightingale amazingly does not let her voice betray, although it can be felt all the same.
"I believe in you children to be great, Amadeus is a very smart man and I and he knows you will do well! ...mm-mmmmm... mmmMay I ask a favor of you children, if you are to be leaving? If you meet your friend Micheal, could you please tell him to come to school?" And with the roller-coaster of emotions typical with Miss Nightingale, the thick fog of worry had returned as she steepled her fingers once more and continued to hum softly to herself.

Micheal, as everyone in the group knows, is not their friend. It'd be a shocker if Micheal had any friends. Mike was kind of a jerk, a delinquent, definitely one of the bad crowd. Sixteen and a sophomore, he's been held back once and is sarcastic and cruel to pretty much everyone he interacts with. Stacy is familiar with him for obvious reasons, he's known to mock Nina for being quiet and shy whenever it becomes obvious enough, and while he rarely ever overtly speaks to Amber it isn't a secret that he talks about her behind her back. Never good things.

Amber blinks. A little overwhelmed by someone on the same wavelength as her. This almost never happens.

She snaps out of it quickly and hugs Miss Nightingale. "Oh, Hi Miss Nightingale. I know I don't see you very much, since Daddy teaches me mostly at home, but it is always fun to see you." After an extended hug, Amber takes the basket from over her head.
"Thank you so much for the gifts. Ooh, I knew I forgot to pack something, a tent. Friend balls! Did I make these? Huh? What is this funny stick?" Amber rambles a bit.

"Oh....and Michael says mean things about my friends. He's not nice. I'll tell him to go to school if we see him." Michael is one of the very few people on Amber's not friend list.

"Uh... Thanks!"
Nina is somewhat overwhelmed with all the emotions in the air, but she doesn't forget her good manners. While Amber goes through the gift-basket she thinks about Michael. She'd rather ignore him altogether then talk to him. Especially about coming to school.
The thoughts make her a bit uneasy and she starts to tip from one foot to the other. Ultimately she decides to distract herself from these thoughts and glances over Ambers shoulder inside the basket.
"Oh, what are these Pokéballs?"

Ms. Nightingale flusters a bit as Amber moves to hug her, but ultimately puts up little resistance... although there's a faint whiff of discomfort in the air. Amber would find the term "beanpole" to be an understatement, the school counselor having much the thickness of a broom and on top of that feeling rather bony and pointy. Overall, not that favorable of a subject to hug. Ms. Nightingale, feeling uncomfortable, tries to force the embrace to end as swiftly as possible.

"Well... yes... hmm-mmm...," the school counselor hems and haws awkwardly as she wriggles to free herself. "Mmm mmmMI'm well aware that Micheal is not the most arguable... mmmagreeable...? Agreeable! Agreeable of young people, but he is troubled and needs our hmm-mmm compassion more than... to... mmm... How is to say, 'to be alone not by choice'? It gives me worry." A feeling of concern lingers like fog in the room, but only for a moment before the sunny cheerfulness Ms. Nightingale had come to be associated with returned.
"Oh? Yes, the Friend balls! I had carved them as a hobby and thinking you young adults would be happy of them! They make... mmm... untame Pokemon more friends when caught! I infuse them with special, gentle auras of friendship and calm~ Mmm...? The Dowsing Rod...? MmmMYes, it is blessed to follow 'ley lines' and res- ...mmmMResuscitate with stones of energy! It is very nifty hmm-mmm!"
