Pokemon Education to define the pokemon: [result]11&2:5,2d6,4,11&2d6+4[/result]

Quickly losing interest if she can't define them to look for the lay of the land and apricorns and berries.

Amber's Checks

Perception: While the sun might be in Stacy's eyes, Amber can see the Pokemon in the road clearly. It's a bird Pokemon with scarlet wings and a black body and sharp beak, a fat purple bug Pokemon, and a couple of light blue beastly looking Pokemon with pointed rears, buck teeth, and large ears with purple spots.

The bird Pokemon is obviously fighting with the others, and the two small beast Pokemon are fighting against the bird and bug as well. The bug is curled up defending itself from the assault. You can assume that the bird and two other blue Pokemon are fighting over their prey in the middle of the road.

Pokemon Education: Of course, having such a good look at them Amber obviously knows all of these Pokemon, as all are relatively common. The bird Pokemon is a Spearow, a Normal/Flying type, known for being territorial and normally travelling in large flocks, but this one is alone. The prey on bugs that live in the tall grass using incredible speed, pack tactics, and hit & run assaults on their prey.

The Spearow is assaulting a Venipede, a Poison/Bug type, which would make sense because of the bird's diet. Venipede normally live in heavily wooded areas, so what this one is doing in the road is anyone's guess. Venipede are highly toxic and rely on this toxicity to avoid being eaten by predators, but it seems that the Spearow hasn't gotten the memo or might be desperate for something to eat. They too are very quick and prefer to eat fungi and rotting plant material.

The other two creatures also after the Venipede are two Nidoran, purely Poisonous Pokemon. These Nidoran are of the female variety, and often travel in small groups such as these two are now. The live in the grasslands too, and something as toxic as a Venipede would have no effect on a Nidoran. Female Nidoran lack the horns of their male counterparts, instead relying on their powerful hind legs to kick their adversaries into submission. They are known to feed on plants and Bug Pokemon, such as they are doing here.

You can't tell from this far away what each specific Pokemon is capable of or how strong they happen to be.

Survival: By what you can tell of the grassland, it's pretty barren and dry, and the soil doesn't look all that healthy. The trees growing here and there don't look that great either, and it's no surprise that such an area would be this unhealthy when it's so close to a chemical plant, even one that's been run down for at least a decade. You can expect to find some various Poison and Ground-type Pokemon here, as well as some that are native to grassland, such as you've witnessed with the Spearow, Nidoran, and Venipede. Anything that requires any sort of moisture to survive is probably closer to the lake, and you'd be hard-pressed to find Bug Pokemon that need trees in this isolated savanna.

With an Extended Search, you may be able to find an apricorn from the withered trees, but you know your chances are slim and there's no hope for finding any sort of berries along the road.

Now that he's dragged closer, let's do a very fast Edu: Pokemon roll on the Nidoran and Spearow ([result]10&3:3:2,3d6,2,10&3d6+2[/result]).
Nothing major; since Stacy's only got a bit of time, I'm only looking for info on how dangerous they'd be for us-- and mainly for Aglais, one of them being a flying type.

Since I'm being dragged along, let's throw a Focus roll in too ([result]9&5:2,2d6,2,9&2d6+2[/result]).

Stacy's Checks

Focus: Your focus is good enough to concentrate on your Pokemon knowledge, even as you're dragged along.

Pokemon Education: You're aware that the Spearow would be very dangerous towards toward Aglais, even at low levels they can be a serious threat to Bug Pokemon. The Nidoran duo don't look like they'd have any advantage over anyone, although they do look pretty bulky.

Luckily for the group, the wild Pokemon are fighting each other and you can tell that none of them are at full strength.

Stacy:
Shift Action to move forward (See R20).
Standard Action to use Fast Pitch (1 AP, throw Pokeball as priority action) together with Curve Ball (On hitting with a Pokeball, deal damage as if performing a Struggle attack and apply the damage before performing the Pokeball's functions) on the Spearow. I add 2 AP to get +2 accuracy towards the throw.
AC 6 status attack: [result]6&4,1d20,2,6&1d20+2[/result]
(Normal) Damage: [result]15&4,1d8,11,15&1d8+11[/result]
Capture roll: [result]80&80,1d100,0,80&1d100[/result]

Aglais:
Stays on top of Stacy, so no shift action required.
Standard Action to use String Shot (Cone 2: On hit, reduce target's Speed CS by 1) on Nidoran 2.
AC 3 status attack: [result]4&4,1d20,0,4&1d20[/result]

Combat Resolved by Speed

Stacy's Combat Results

Stacy, with his quick reflexes, lets loose a Pokeball immediately and with priority. His aim wasn't terrible, but just before it hits the Spearow the bird flutters up and over it. It seems that the Spearow's reflexes were just that much faster, allowing it to evade the thrown Pokeball. The Pokeball bounces and rolls just behind the wild Spearow.
Stacy's Pokeball misses the target!

Amber's Combat Results

Amber's [Orders] snap Clover out of her sleepy, dreamy state, allowing her to attack immediately and with speed.
+1 Movement, +4 Initiative to Clover until the end of Amber's next turn. Clover now has 14 Initiative.

Clover's Combat Results

Clover's Vine Whip strikes the thick back of one of the Nidoran... although the attack is not very effective.
Clover's Vine Whip deals 2 damage!

In case Amber's attempt fails, Stacy follows up to try and catch the Venipede himself. (if she succeeds, I target the Spearow instead-- annoying little bugger)

AC 6 Status attack: [result]12&12,1d20,0,12&1d20[/result]
Capture roll: [result]34&34,1d100,0,34&1d100[/result]

More like a Poke Ball lovetap than an actual throw, if you ask me. Right next to the sleeping things.
