This isn't my story, but I was watching chugaaconroy's LP of Emerald, and Brawly in Dewford had taken out all of his Pokemon but Zigzagoon. The Makuhita had low health. Fortunately, it was poisoned, and when chugaa sent out his LV 3 HM Slaving raccoon, the Makuhita fainted. Needless to say, his Zigzagoon leveled up a few times. |

I've done this too, with poison plus Leech Seed. It's not hard, especially given how Gen 3's faint timer works. |

I believe that I don't have many noteworthy things to bring up about my games... But I seem to have a weird luck when it comes to gym leaders I wasn't properly prepared for: I lost count how many battles I won by a very little margin by delivering the final blow...with the most underleveled pokemon in my team that I caught just short before. Saw a whole lot of pokemon skyrocket with levels gained in this way. |

Probably my most impressive stories are in Unova: First, in White 1, after defeating the elite four and clearing the story, I went to battle Cynthia without doing much else, as I wanted to explore the new areas. My Serperior was my highest level pokémon, barely at 60, facing her Level 75-77 pokémon. Fortunately for me, her Spiritomb started the battle by using Double Team six times, which I countered with six Coils, making Spiritomb's buff worthless. Thanks to the massive buff I built up, I proceeded to roll her team with a level 60. Next, in White 2, I had noticed that there was a medal reward for defeating the Elite Four and Champion using only one pokémon. Since they get much stronger on rematches, I decided to do this with my starter Serperior. I had expected Shauntal to give me trouble, as Serperior had no good moves to hit a Chandelure with, but thanks to Coil and good item use, I was able to beat everyone with minimal problems. |

I played through the entirety of gold using nothing but my Starter up til I got red Gyarados. Then I beat the rest of the game using only those two pokemon. |

...that reminds me of something else. This one isn't me, but something my younger brother did. So, when pokémon Red and Blue first came out, my brother and I each got a copy. I was advancing fairly normally, however, my brother was having trouble catching pokémon. As a result, he ended up beating the first gym with nothing but his Charmander. When he did, it evolved into Charmeleon. He still hadn't caught anything by the time he reached Mt. Moon, so he bought the Magikarp. He ended up getting his second badge with only those two pokémon, and his Charmeleon evolved again, becoming Charizard incredibly early. And his only other pokémon was a Magikarp who barely knew how to Tackle. |

Used only a lv. 20- something torkoal to defeat the third elite four in ORAS. Also making Mesprit, Uxie, and Alzef powerless simply by using Mightyena. NONE of their attacks could to anything since Dark types aren't affected by Psychic moves. (Okay, maybe it's not that noteworthy, but it was fun to watch) Finally, there's a tradition I have where I keep my starter and one pokemon with me at all times and only place it in the PC once the elite four have been beaten. In Pearl, I had Turtwig as the starter and Starly as the other pokemon. Come time to fight the elite four, Turtwig became Toterra and was an utter tank, and Staraprator was a glass cannon that hit HARD. I only needed those two to defeat the elite four (up until the champion). Edited by Mr. Seal The Albatross, Aug 2 2015, 08:57 PM.
