#That's what I was thinking! I just felt like I had to roll SOMETHING though, and he wants to sound convincing, even if it is the truth...

Jonathan:
As Jonathan finishes, the computer bings. A door opens in the ceiling and a small Vanillite in a chef's hat floats down, a cheery smile on its face. The little ice cream cone hovers above each pile of vegetables, inspecting his job, then floats back into the ceiling. "Congratulations. Vanillite says that even though the contest broke the rules by not including a Pokemon, he didn't need their help because his knife skills were so excellent. You may proceed to the next test."

Jonathan exited the room and re-entered the elevator. This time it rose to a height where he actually had a nice view - he could even see battles happening down at the Pokemon Gym by the water, though the people and Pokemon looked like ants. The elevator stopped again and opened to an identically shaped room. This one had a full stove top and a limited pantry, including a couple dozen of eggs.

"Your second skill drill will be a test of versatility. You may be aided by two Pokemon. You have 30 minutes to cook four different small dishes, each utilizing an egg cooked in a different way. You will be judged overall creativity and taste of the dish, with special emphasis on the quality of the egg cookery. You challenge begins in 3...2...1...*DING*"

"Alright!" Tristan says with a smile as the father-son duo agree to the battle. He confidently tosses out Lolo an Otto, both of which are about to have their first real battle.

Tristan Initiative 15 (throws out pokemon)
Lolo Speed 10
Otto Speed 5

#You go first.

Lorne:
#Ha, Guile works good enough, I can see "persuasion"

River looked less agitated and way more intrigued. "I saw that on the news this morning - you're 'Mr. Pruitt?'" A quick flash of his trainer ID would quickly prove that.

River looked Lorne over, clearly thinking things over. "I thought that interview was super sketchy - it was clear Steel was trying to cover NanoKlink's ass. I even thought at the time, 'What poor shmuck did this get pinned on?' - errr, no offense," River said, gradually softening a bit.

"I can tell by how genuinely pissed off you are that you're being honest. But that means...NanoKlink was involved in those poachings?" River suddenly looked pissed, but thankfully no longer at Lorne. "I wouldn't put it past them - they all see Pokemon as dollar signs. Which is honestly why I'm still a little distrustful of you, seeing as you worked for them up until a couple of hours ago, and didn't exactly quit of your own accord."

Tristan:
"Okay Lillipup! LEER!" cried the kid. The Lillipup tried to look as ferocious as possible, which was still pretty cute.

"I worked for them out of my loyalty for money, not the company. They paid well, and now they're not." He folds his arms over his chest in frustration. What would it take to make this girl believe him?

"The fact that I was fired for nothing is exactly why you should trust me. If someone screws with me, I'm not going to just sit back and take it. I always get what I want. And I'm sure anyone who stands in my way will regret that they did." With that last remark, he glares pointedly at River.
