Even though the second Nidoran decided to attack as well, Lorne isn't too concerned. It's clear these poor rabbits are too frightened to do much damage. Seviper slithers around the attacks, but in the female's panic, she manages to brush the snake with her leg, but it hardly fazes Seviper. "Focus on the male. He's the one I want!" Seviper uses Bite on Nidoran (m) AC(2, flinches on 15+): [result]19&19,1d20,0,19&1d20[/result] Dark physical damage: [result]34&1:5,2d6,28,34&2d6+28[/result] |

"10,000 pokeyen. Damn!" Kylar thinks for a moment, "Does that include my discount? Cause I'm still low on the totem pole amongst the Rangers so my pay grade doesn't quite cover that?" #here are my follow up questions "What is a reanimation machine?" "Do you know where I can find one?" "How rare are fossils?" |

Ziggy: Phoebe gives the slightest glare. "Oh, trust me. I already considered that they may be planning on framing me if news of a telekinetic's involvement gets out. That's probably precisely why they had a telekinetic levitate the Gengar in, instead of having it just phase through the walls invisibly... I mean, they've had me doing their dirty work for years. I know how they think."
"NanoKlink has been trying to expand the number of energy generators they own across NanoKlink. More power plants, more dams, more oil drills in the oceans...But all of that means destruction of natural habitats and Pokemon labor. River has been very active in opposing this, and has turned a lot of people against NanoKlink."
"Honestly, supernaturals tend to keep to themselves, and don't always showcase their abilities... We're not always received well by most people. For a while I've suspected NanoKlink had some strong supernaturals working for them, but I don't really know any details. But it could be just at likely that a telekinetic lackey like me was ordered to levitate the Pokeball in."
Phoebe let out a little laugh. "Like I said, most supernaturals make an effort to not be found, except for the rare exceptions like Sabrina. But they'll be drawn to occult shops. And there are number of witch hunters, occult researchers, and practitioners out in Spoons... Perhaps someone there would know more."
"I think you best bet is to find a connection between the Gengar and its trainer. Once you have a name, you can start digging around for records, connections, aliases... There will be something that connects someone to NanoKlink, if that someone exists."
Phoebe laughed. "You're right - I don't know why I assumed it would be a person. I guess a trainer walking through a gym with a Psychic Pokemon wouldn't really stand out. That opens up so many more possibilities...perhaps you could also try to find out if there are any trainers who own Gengars and also a telekinetic Pokemon? Is that even possible to find out? Or if you could find a specialist who can distinguish between types of Psychic Residue, they could tell if it was human or Pokemon." |

Tristan surveyed the competition carefully, noting their various strengths and weaknesses. The Flareon would probably be some stiff competition, especially if there was any direct contact. The Gorebyss looked rather well-trained as well. Cordelia looked up at him for reassurance, and he nodded. He thought they'd do well. Intuition (to size them up): [result]13&1:4:5,3d6,3,13&3d6+3[/result] Then, his eyes landed on Hugo just as his stupid mouth began to talk.
Adjusting his cufflinks, Tristan rolls his eyes at Hugo as he starts to protest. "Please, save the theatrics for the stage. You'll need all the help you can get with an attitude like that. This is a beauty contest, remember? Well right now your demeanor is looking all sorts of ugly," he says dismissively as an impeccably-pruned Cordelia hops up on a small counter to allow Tristan to give her the final touches. He nonchalantly begins spritzing some water on Cordelia's petals and leaves, allowing the water to bead up and look like fresh morning dew. The effect was remarkable, no matter how much Hugo disliked him. |

Lorne: Seviper sinks its fangs into the Nidoran, which flinches from the pain. It looks like its just about to faint. The sister is even more concerned now, and kicks at the Seviper. Double Kick Double Strike AC(3): [result]10&10,1d20,0,10&1d20[/result] AC(3): [result]1&1,1d20,0,1&1d20[/result] |

Ziggy listens carefully as she answers his questions. "So... I hate to ask but what exactly were you guys doing in that cave anyway? What is Nanoklink's interest in capturing electric pokemon? Is it just as batteries for machines or is there anything more? I know you were working with the poachers... how can we prove that NanoKlink is poaching pokemon, without implicating any of us specifically of course..." Ziggy gives a knowing look "What exactly are the poachers doing up there?" |

Kylar: "Sorry son, but fossils are extremely rare..." Ruby says, but Opal gives her a glare. "...but that does not include your Savior of Opal Discount. For you, I'd sell it for... 7000 Pokeyen." Ruby looks like that's highway robbery, but she'd do it for Opal. Opal pipes up. "A reanimation machine can take a DNA sample from a good fossil like these and clone an ancient Pokemon! Tyrunt have been extinct for millions of years, but you could have one today. Isn't science amazing? I know there's a paleontologist that lives in Royalrose Cove who has one." Tristan: Hugo scowled at Tristan. "At least I am not a thief and an assailant," he said, a couple heads turning to look and see what the commotion was, but quickly turning back to their own Pokemon. Guile to crowd: [result]16&6:6:1,3d6,3,16&3d6+3[/result] "Enjoy your spritzing," Hugo said with a dismissive sneer. He went back to his station, clearly positioning Snover so Tristan could see "Let's try Powder Snow again," he said, trying to intimidate Tristan. Sparkling, glittering snow began to float down above the Snover's head, twirling serenely around its body as it slowly turned. Powder Snow [result]25&6:4:4:6:5,5d6,0,25&5d6[/result] #1 Appeal point on 2-5, 2 on a 6 - just showing off, base how beautiful it is off the number of appeal points As Tristan sized up his other opponents, he concluded they definitely had some beautiful Pokemon, but by their lack of grooming kits and general demeanor, they didn't seem to be contest specialists like him or Hugo. |

"That's enough, Seviper! Just take care of the female back now." Seeing that the Nidoran us weakened, Lorne throws a Great Ball.
