Kylar smiles to River before walking away. "Before I leave, I know what moves to teach my squad. I'd like to teach Iron Head to Knuckles and Quash to Valentine" |

You challenge begins in 3...2...1...*DING*" "Phyllis! Affogato!" The quilava jumped into action, immediately putting the spurs to the stovetop. Ember: AC(2) [result]18&17,1d20,1,18&1d20+1[/result] "Cha-Cha! I need stock ice cream ingredients, cocoa powder, hazelnuts and anything hazelnut flavored that you can find back there, and turn on the ice cream machine!" Quick Attack: AC(2): [result]21&20,1d20,1,21&1d20+1[/result] The pachirisu jumps into action grabbing milk, cream, and sugar first. Jonathan adds them to a saucepan, stirring vigorously while the sugar dissolves. Once he has the cocoa powder, he allows everything to simmer for a few minutes while he whisks egg yolks and remaining sugar together, then carefully tempers the eggs by slowly pouring the hot liquid in. Intuition: [result]19&5:3:2:3,4d6,6,19&4d6+6[/result] Jonathan looks over to his right to his mise-en-place and sees that Cha Cha had brought hazelnut spread and a crooked smile creeps onto his face. Immediately, he grabs a spoon and throws a huge dollop of the stuff into the custard and lets it dissolve before adding the vanilla and taking it all off the heat. Intuition: [result]22&5:5:5:1,4d6,6,22&4d6+6[/result] Phyllis, as if on cue, runs to grab a strainer. Quick Attack: AC(2): [result]21&20,1d20,1,21&1d20+1[/result] Jonathan pours the concoction through a strainer into a bowl, and Phyllis runs it off to the ice cream machine. While Jonathan mixes cream and sugar and begins whisking the mixture vigorously and sends Cha-Cha to the refrigerator while he begins to run hazelnuts through the food processor. On Phyllis's way back, she brings a canister of espresso powder. Jonathan dumps a scoop into the food processor and lets it sit on high for thirty seconds. Intuition: [result]26&2:6:6:6,4d6,6,26&4d6+6[/result] Jonathan sends Phyllis and Cha-Cha to retrieve the whipped cream and ice cream, respectively. Phyllis: Quick Attack: AC(2) [result]16&16,1d20,0,16&1d20[/result] Cha-Cha: Quick Attack: AC(2) [result]8&8,1d20,0,8&1d20[/result] Jonathan pulls out a huge serving bowl and scoops in the ice cream and dusts the hazelnut mixture over the top. FIVE MINUTES REMAIN! The whipping cream is molded to look just like the Vanillite chef judging the event. A few small hazelnuts are arranged as eyes and pieces are arranged into his other facial features, and the espresso hazelnut mixture is lightly dusted over the top. Thirty seconds left! Intuition: [result]19&3:2:4:4,4d6,6,19&4d6+6[/result] Jonathan steps back from the work, notices a small blemish and covers it just in time to hear the BUZZZZZZZ!!! Time's up! |

Kylar: #This is after Kylar's battle, before Lorne's, so before Lorne has the talk with her...we're doing a flashback I guess River nods at his choices. "I bet I can teach them those moves. I'll need about a half hour of time for each of them. But there's another trainer who wanted to battle me," she says, motioning to that a blonde man wearing a nice suit - wait, it was that guy from the PokeCenter Ziggy was talking to! "Why don't you come back in a little bit and I'll have a break then. I noticed Semira's still here - she has some potential new leads. Why don't you go talk to her?" Tristan: Ruby spins elegantly out of her Pokeball, but is so used to performance without battling that she completely misses with her attacks, blinding Otto with her glimmering light in the process. [result]1&1,1d6,0,1&1d6[/result] damage. Herdier manages to jump out of the way of Otto's bite. He growls and distracts Otto, giving the Lillipup a chance to move in on the bug. Herdier uses Helping Hand Priority - If the user has not yet taken their turn that round, Helping Hand may be declared during an Ally’s turn, before they make any rolls, to immediately take your turn and use Helping Hand. Helping Hand grants the target +2 on their next Accuracy Roll this round, and +10 to the next Damage Roll this round. Lillipup uses Bite AC(2): [result]5&3,1d20,2,5&1d20+2[/result] Dark Physical: [result]36&2:6,2d6,28,36&2d6+28[/result] |

"Great. Sounds good River." At the sound of her name, Kylar isn't super excited, but of Semira had some updates, that'd be the place he needed to go. Might as well take care of the theoretical elephant in the room too. Kylar approaches the crowd, where he sees Semira. "Hey Semira. Sorry bout last night. Ziggy let me ingest way too much alcohol. I hope we can let bygones be bygones." "River told me you had some updates on the Gengar situation?" |

"It'll be okay, Ruby!" Tristan calls out as the Floette falters on her initial attack. Fortunately, Otto's stealth in the grass has kept him safe from the Lillipup's attacks, despite Ruby's accidental friendly fire. "Both of you, together now! Blast them with your leaves!" #This has been the Razor Leaf battle, lol #Otto continues to use Blender, not shifting unless the Lillipup/Herdier move. Razor Leaf (Floette) AC(4): [result]4&3,1d20,1,4&1d20+1[/result] (+1 AP, included) Physical Grass Damage: [result]34&6:4,2d6,24,34&2d6+24[/result] Effect: Razor Leaf is a Critical Hit on 18+. Razor Leaf (Sewaddle) AC(4): [result]6&6,1d20,0,6&1d20[/result] Physical Grass Damage: [result]32&5:8,2d8,19,32&2d8+19[/result] Effect: Razor Leaf is a Critical Hit on 18+. |

Semira lets out a sigh and a bit of a grimace. "It was pretty shitty of you, but I think I'm going to need your help so you can make it up to me that way. The only lead we have is an old witch that lives in Spoons. River said she'd help us get there as much as she could, but she and Cascade have a lot of work to catch up on so they won't be coming with." |

"Spoons. Hmm... Im in. After everything that Gengar did, I'm concerned for others. And it's not even a wild pokemon which is even freakier." Kylar hears the crowd go nuts, "River must be kicking that guys butt." Back to the topic, "Semira, we hit it off great. Please dont let my young dumb antics cloud your judgement. I'm a good guy. We can help each other here. I'm am expert tracker. I'm sure that translates to Ghost pokemon too. I'm also somewhat protective of the people I like, so I assure you, if you were to travel with Zig and I, you'd be safe." Kylar awaits Siras response and turns to watch a little of the match. |

"I know, that's why I want you along." Semira starts to smile a bit. "Plus, if you do get out of line again, I can just lay that Curse right back on you." She gives him a wink to help ease the tension and indicate that she was actually kidding, but she and him both know that she could totally do just that. |

Kylar chuckled half heartedly. It was a good joke, and he would have found it funnier had that damn ghost not brought about the past. "Great. Let's wait til River finishes this match and she should be free to talk." #im good to move to after Lornes fight if Semira is |

Tristan: The Herdier is skilled enough to dodge both flurries of leaves, but the young Lillipup is just barely too slow - the leaves knick him, and that's all it takes. "Aww!" the young boy yells. "Good job anyway pup, return." Herdier growls at Otto and lunges in for a bite. Crunch AC(2): [result]6&6,1d20,0,6&1d20[/result] Dark Physical: [result]32&1:5,2d8,26,32&2d8+26[/result] Jonathan: The computer binged and the Vanillite in a chef's hat floated down from the ceiling a final time, tears of joy welling in its eyes that its favorite challenge was here. When it sees that Jonathan has sculpted the whipped cream to look like it, it starts spinning happily. "Vanilliilllilll!" The Pokemon dove into the ice cream face first, gobbling it all up in seconds. When the Vanillite floated back up into the ceiling, she looked more like chocolate ice cream. "Congratulations. Vanillite says that was the closest she has come to enlightenment. The espresso powder was especially inspired, and she was very flatted by the whipped cream." 50 EXP each to Phyllis and Cha-Cha for lightning fast moves (nice crits!) Jonathan exited the room and re-entered the elevator. It now rose so high that he could see the Kadian mountain range on one side, and a whole other mountain range on the other! The elevator stopped, but this time it opened up into a large room shaped like a half circle that was filled with a large state of the art kitchen. A woman wearing red rimmed glasses and holding a clip board stood to great him, the Vanillite from before hovering over her shoulder (still looking half like chocolate ice cream). "Congratulations!" she said, shaking Jonathan's hand. "You've passed all of our skill drills, so you may now compete in the Brunch Battle! Let me show you your work space," she said, leading Jonathan through the kitchen and pantry. "You will face off against another chef that has passed all the skill drills. You must cook one savory and one sweet brunch item to feed 50 people. You also must make one brunch cocktail to accompany each meal. You'll have 10 minutes to plan your meal, and then a maximum of 40 minutes to cook." "You must have three Pokemon out that may assist you in cooking however you wish. Every five minutes, a bell will ring, signaling a battle. You must send one Pokemon to the Battle Ring in the middle of the stage for one turn of combat. During this time they cannot cook, so make sure you don't send someone who's in the middle of an important step or it may affect your food! When the round ends, any Pokemon left standing can immediately return to cooking. If you can knock out all three of the opponent's Pokemon before time is up, they'll have to stop cooking whenever the final one faints and plate whatever they happen to have! But that's right, it can happen to you too - so stay on your toes in case you need to finish your meal faster than you planned." "Any questions?" |
