Lorne:
River was a little taken aback by just how psyducking pissed this guy sounded - she could tell he really meant it about hating NanoKlink, and also meant it about not wanting to get on his bad say. "Woah woah, no need to get angry. I can tell you're serious about this. I think our interests may not align, but they...intersect." She paused, choosing her words carefully. "I've been investigating who attacked me with that Gengar, and why. You clearly know I'm not a fan of NanoKlink and they're not a fan of me, or you wouldn't be here. They're clearly the main suspects, but I don't have any evidence. If you could help us in some way and it turns out NanoKlink is the culprit, it would tarnish their image forever. I'm sure that's in your interests."

Jonathan blanches. I thought they said "May"! I guess, I'll have to be more careful in listening to them!

"Phyllis, Cha-Cha! Come on out!"

"Your second skill drill will be a test of versatility. You may be aided by two Pokemon. You have 30 minutes to cook four different small dishes, each utilizing an egg cooked in a different way. You will be judged overall creativity and taste of the dish, with special emphasis on the quality of the egg cookery.

Jonathan's mind is racing...Fritatta...Baked...Poached...and...and...Zabaione?

You challenge begins in 3...2...1...*DING*"

"Phyllis get the stove going! We're going to have almost no time to spare!"

Ember: AC(2): [result]16&15,1d20,1,16&1d20+1[/result]

"Cha-Cha! I need as much avocado and dill as humanly possible! And grab every single egg!"

The Pachirisu zooms around the kitchen as quickly as possible.

Quick Attack: AC(2) [result]17&16,1d20,1,17&1d20+1[/result]

As soon as the avocados hit the table, Jonathan begins to break them down and pull out the pits. He covers them with black pepper and kosher salt and drizzles them in olive oil. In the center of each, where the pit was, Jonathan cracks a small egg, places them on a baking pan and puts them into the heated oven.

Intuition: [result]22&4:3:4:5,4d6,6,22&4d6+6[/result]

The rest of the avocado was smashed with salsa and spread onto bread toasted by Phyllis' flame, left to sit for a moment.

"Garlic and onions, Cha-Cha! And then take some of the eggs I separated and mix in some cream, marsala, and sugar and blend it all together!"
Quick Attack: AC(2) [result]7&6,1d20,1,7&1d20+1[/result]

Jonathan heats up a pan with the garlic, onions, and dill. The egg whites from earlier are added and the heat is immediately cut. The frittata gets put into another oven.

Intuition: [result]21&4:1:4:6,4d6,6,21&4d6+6[/result]

While over there, Jonathan checks on the avocados from before...Still not done. Fifteen minutes were left. Still time!

Jonathan got out the double boiler and put the creamy mixture from earlier into a bowl over the hot water and began whisking furiously. As he whisked, he realized the poached eggs were not going to have time.

Without stopping his hand, he went deep into thought. OIL!

Jonathan pointed to the pokemon blowing fire in his vicinity, "Phyllis! We should be good here! Get a pot of oil hot with garlic and chiles! Cha-Cha, get small shallow glasses!"

As Cha-Cha sets up the glasses, Jonathan is already pouring the Zabaione in them. "Get a few blueberries to garnish!"

Intuition: [result]23&5:1:6:5,4d6,6,23&4d6+6[/result]

The eggs get cracked into the oil just as he hears a mechanical voice:

FIVE MINUTES

Jonathan sighs in relief.

"Cha-Cha! Get the avocados and the frittata!" Jonathan points to the oven as he evacuates the eggs from the boiling oil, places them on the avocado smash on the toast, and then goes back to evacuate the other chiles from the oil.

Intuition: [result]19&5:3:4:1,4d6,6,19&4d6+6[/result]

Jonathan crumbles the chiles onto the avocados, frittata, and poached eggs and then completes the plating just as he hears the alarm announcing the end of the round.

Lorne thinks on that for a moment. Yesterday, before this all happened, he would have insisted there's no way NanoKlink would send a Pokémon to attack someone. He almost wants to agree with his past self, only because he thinks that such a big, powerful company must surely have better, more efficient ways of dealing with someone.

But they were stupid enough to blame one of their best employees for NanoKlink's connection to the poaching, so Lorne can't be so sure of what the company would or wouldn't do. River has been on the NanoKlink hate train much longer than Lorne has, so he'll have to hope her suspicion is correct. It's not like he has anything else to lose by helping her.

He nods and gives River a little smirl. "I'm in. Just tell me what you need me to do."

Tristan:
Lolo growls, startling the dogs, and Otto unleashes a flurry of leaves that pound into them. The puppy looks mad at Lolo for challenging him and runs forward.

"Herdier, help him out!"

Helping Hand
Priority - If the user has not yet taken their turn that round, Helping Hand may be declared during an Ally’s turn, before they make any rolls, to immediately take your turn and use Helping Hand. Helping Hand grants the target +2 on their next Accuracy Roll this round, and +10 to the next Damage Roll this round.

The Herdier uses its nose to launch the Lillipup forward, and it landed on Lolo with a chomp.

Bite
AC(2, flinch on 15+): [result]5&3,1d20,2,5&1d20+2[/result] (+2 from Helping Hand included)
Dark Physical: [result]34&3:3,2d6,28,34&2d6+28[/result] (+10 from Helping Hand included)

Lorne:
"I still need to decide that. I know you said you don't have dirt, but you have knowledge. Tell me whatever you think could be useful. Like, how pissed are they at you? I assume they revoked your security clearance, but do you think you could get in...creatively? And things like...when do people usually arrive and leave work, what sort of information they have on their employees and their Pokemon, if there'd be any way to access that data...or anything else you could think of. ...Can you stay here for a bit? I need to inform my associates," River said, already firing off the text.

Texts to Kylar, Semira, and Ziggy:
<New development in our favor. Come to the Gym ASAP. River>

"Oh they're pretty pissed. I'd have to get extremely creative if I want to get back in there. As for information, I think I have something that could help." He sits comfortably and waits, figuring he'll share the information once the others arrive, just to avoid repeating himself.

Jonathan:
The computer binged and the Vanillite in a chef's hat floated down from the ceiling again, this time looking very very excited. It first drifted over to the poached egg on avocado mash and crispy toast, and seemed very happy. Next was the frittata, which Vanillite seemed to enjoy even more, though it adorably hung out it's tongue from the spiciness. It then drifted over to the egg baked into the avocado took a huge chomp, looking positively overjoyed. Finally, it licked up a huge scoop of the zabaione and blueberries. "VannilllIIITTTE!" it yelled happily, positively overjoyed by the custard. It flew back up into the ceiling.

"Congratulations. Vanillite says you blew her mind, especially with the dessert. You may proceed to the third and final test."

30 EXP to Cha-Cha for keeping the kitchen ahead of schedule with its quick reflexes
30 EXP to Phyllis for expert temperature control

Jonathan exited the room and re-entered the elevator. He rose higher and higher, starting to see past some of the taller buildings in the city. He could just barely spot Prospect Pass, and the beginnings of the routes leaving north and south out of Rainshadow. The elevator stopped again and opened to an identically shaped room. This one had a full stove top and an ice cream maker, along with a limited pantry (though more desert inclined than the previous pantry).

"Your final skill drill will test your sweet tooth, a key part of any brunch. You may be aided by two Pokemon. You must create an ice cream with toppings. You will be judged by the overall flavor and creativity of the icecream, with a special emphasis on plating - make it beautiful! You challenge begins in 3...2...1...*DING*"

Lolo winces as the Lilipup bites him, a large welt appearing on his side.

"Power through, Lolo! Use your new Move to heal it back!"

At the suggestion, Lolo glares at the Herdier and green light begins to coalesce around the older dog Pokemon, Lolo focusing in on the bigger target. He shifts away following the attack.

Tristan:
Green globs of energy fly from Herdier back toward Lolo, making the Lotad feel a bit better (Heal 7). Otto unleashes another fury of leaved at the dogs, leaving the pup looking pretty weak. "Liiiiiilllll," it whines for it's father, looking pathetic, and lunges at Lolo again.

The little Lilipup hits Lolo hard, and the lilypad Pokemon faints with a whimper. Meanwhile, Otto's blending into the surroundings has helped him hide amid the grass and avoid Herdier's nasty Crunch. "Great work, Lolo! Come back!"

"Good effort to you too!" Tristan says with a smile to the kid commanding the Lilipup.

Charm: [result]13&5:2:1:2,4d6,3,13&4d6+3[/result]

"Ruby, you're up!" he says, and Floette floats out of his breast pocket and into the fray. It was her first outright battle in quite some time, but he thought she'd do well.

Ruby Initiative 10 (exactly the same as Lotad's, so no change).

"Give 'em a show, Ruby!" Tristan exclaims with a smile. Ruby twirls in the air toward the group, and dazzles theme with her power.

Acrobatics (Showing Off): [result]17&6:5:1:4,4d6,1,17&4d6+1[/result]

Dazzling Gleam

Special Fairy Damage: [result]34&1:1:7,3d8,25,34&3d8+25[/result]

"Otto! Stay hidden! Concentrate fire on Herdier!" Tristan calls out, and Sewaddle creeps out from behind a tuft of grass, aiming to chomp on Herdier's paw.
