#Back with Clover, briefly. "Huh! Thanks for the heads' up! I'll keep an eye out for one!" #At the Greenhouses Finally reaching the Greenhouses, Tristan fiddles a while with the automated machine, and eventually punches in "2" for the number of Greenhouse stalls he would like to rent, receiving two Key Cards. Swiping them again, he types in "3" for the number of days to rent, depositing 600 Pokeyen. Damn, he was low on cash already. He'd have to call father soon to see if he could wire some money here to Kadia, and tell him ALL about his finds thus far. Finding the appropriate Greenhouses, Tristan opens the first and sets to work. The space was nice enough, a little dirty from lack up upkeep, but nothing a little work couldn't fix. First things first, Tristan changed into his gardening clothes, putting on his rough overalls, gloves, and boots while carefully folding his other clothes and placing his new wingtips on a crate in a corner of the greenhouse. "Reggie, Flora, and Ruby, come help me work over here. The rest of you can go play or watch as you like," he calls out to the group. The three Pokemon he called to approach, with Reginald once again staring somewhat blankly. Opening his berry pouch carefully, Tristan pulls out three berries, as well as the Lum seeds. The three he produced were the Rowap, Jaboca, and Figy varieties. Digging a small hole in each planting site with his trowel, Tristan tills the earth until it becomes soft and loamy. Ruby handing him the berries, he places one of each in the now-dug holes. Before covering them, Tristan adjusts the depth of each hole carefully. "Rowap berries need extra depth. They love dark, dank places to grow, and require roughly four more inches of topsoil between the berry and the air to properly germinate," he muses to Flora and Ruby. Reggie doesn't seem to really be listening, while Ruby is particularly enraptured. "Its top-shaped pieces are rather hard, and require a soft tap to get them to sprout with any readiness. Did you know people used to turn the pieces into actual tops and play with them after they dried out? Funny, huh?" Soon enough, the Rowap berry is planted, along with some mulch from his pack (+1 to Yield Rolls). A spritz with the watering can dampens the soil. "Jaboca berries on the other hand require extra organic matter and water. Some people think they have a link to Dragon-type Pokemon, and are somewhat inured to the elements because of that. Ironically, its drupes are prone to popping if not handled with care however. So the extra organic matter must be packed carefully, letting the water fill in the gaps," he says as he does this, taking some grass clippings and mulch and loosely packing the dirt around the berry (+1 to Yield Rolls). He finally tops it off with a generous spray of water from his watering can. "Our final berry for preparation here is the Figy Berry," Tristan says. At this, Reggie perks up. He can smell its spiciness from afar. "You like that, huh?" Well maybe we'll use it to get your attention for a bit before planting it," Tristan thinks on his feet, placing the Figy berry out of reach. "I've been meaning to try this, ever since I heard about Paras," Tristan says, looking at the Bug Pokemon. "I've heard you can grow OTHER herbs on the primary mushroom, even other mushrooms! Let's see if we can transplant the mushrooms growing in my planter with the Fairy berries onto your primary cap," he finishes, starting to work on transplanting mushrooms from his Portable Grower onto the Parasect. Soon enough, the Pokemon is covered in additional little mushroom growths, and some in the planter even appear ready for harvest. These he doesn't transfer, and harvests right away. Tiny Mushroom Yield Roll: [result]1&1,1d3,0,1&1d3[/result] (-2 for Yield Roll, +2 for Skill and Planter, included) #Tiny Mushrooms are now planted on Parasect, leaving me with two empty planter slots, one in the original and one in the Hydroponic. Interestingly, Reggie seems to perk up as the mushrooms are transferred. Perhaps they were imbalancing the chemicals influencing his brain? "You in there, guy?" Tristan says inquisitively to Reggie, and he seems to get a bit of a response in the form of a nod. Looking under the Parasect's mushroom cap hood, he can see the tiny Paras head still under there, now seemingly much smaller in comparison. "Hmmm... if I trim these tendrils here, and remove the mycelium there..." he says as he works, trimming some of the mushroom's extensions into the Pokemon's head, and rerouting others to help Reggie control the mushroom itself more. Parasect seems to perk up when he's done, as if coming out of a fog. #Parasect has gained the PokeEdge Capability Training: Intelligence (I'll leave it to you what the exact effects of this are) #Parasect has gained the PokeEdge Advanced Connection: Spore Tristan smiles at his work, talking to Reggie and gauging his abilities with the influence of the mushroom reduced. After a while, he continues his lecture about Figy berries, noting their spiciness and need for acidic soil. Finally planting it with mulch (+1 to Yield Rolls), he sees that Flora has been fully engaged, watching the process and how the precise methods yield better results. #Training time for Flora! She gains 10 EXP. Wrapping things up, Tristan takes the Lum Berry seeds and puts them into the new Hydroponic Planter... it seems almost too easy. In his now-open slot in the original planter, he carefully turns the excess mushrooms into fertilizer, and plants around the fairy berry bush one of his Cheri Berries he'd found back on Route 2. Getting up and stretching his legs, Tristan realizes it's been a few hours since he sat down to work. Yikes. Time sure does fly. The sun was even beginning to set. He'd need to plant the other greenhouse quickly if he wanted them to start growing tonight. |

The second greenhouse didn't take nearly as long. He was out of mulch, and could only use his gardening skills and the help of his Pokemon, now. In the planter spots, Tristan plopped down Bluk, Razz, and Persim Berries, filling in the topsoil and watering each carefully. Excellent. a job well done! One final step to do, in both greenhouses this time. He wanted to plant some basic flowers to potentially sell at Pika Place Market; he could tell his signature blooms would go over well there. In the margins of each berry planter, Tristan drops a few seeds from his gardening kit of flowers he knows will grow quickly and be beautiful. When they're ready to harvest, he'll have a riot of violets, reds, whites, and yellows. Tristan: 30 EXP each to Reggie, Flora and Ruby for being good helpers +1 to Reggie's Intelligence. He seems a little more lucid now, though not completely back to normal. Tristan will have to do more research to see if he can find further steps he can take to balance the symbiotic relationship between the Parasect and its mushroom. As Tristan is packing up, he finds some dried lavender left behind in one of his stalls (New Floral Sample). He locked up the greenhouses, knowing he'd have to wait to see the (literal) fruits of his labor. On the way back to the Pokemon Center, his Pokedex buzzes with the text he's been waiting for. 4040 Basculin St East Harden I'll be waiting Hugo |

Tristan is still gazing at the lavender sample in his floral sample collection when his phone buzzes. Glancing at who it's from, Tristan's heart skips a beat. He'd expected one of the guys; he hadn't gotten an update on Kylar's situation recently or anything. But it was Hugo. He'd be waiting. Tristan typed out a quick reply. Play it cool, Tris. <I just need to freshen up and I'll be there in a few. See you soon.> And one to the guys, for good measure while he had it out. <How'd that NanoKlink thing work out, Kylar? Everything OK?> Reaching the PokeCenter, Tristan showers off the stray dirt from gardening and puts on some of his cologne and a nice new shirt and vest. Soon enough, he was out the door and on his was to 4040 Basculin St., to a place called "Harden." It sounded... Fun? Tristan couldn't wait. |

After his brief encounter in the PokéCenter, Lorne makes a quick stop back at his apartment to make sure he didn't get too disheveled from training. If he's going out tonight, he has to look his best. Once he's finished preening, he starts making his way to Harden. Lorne doesn't intend to be a third wheel on Hugo's date, but a drink was promised to him. Better cash in on that sooner than later, he figures. |

Tristan: It all makes sense to Tristan when he sees the green neon sign in the shape of Metapod. "HARDEN" it reads in small black font, and he can hear a soft unts unts unts unts coming from inside. The bouncer at the door looks oddly like the Makuhita by his side. "All Pokemon in their Pokeballs, please," he grumbles as he checks Tristan's ID. As Tristan enters, he notices the place is dark, illuminated by a emerald green light that gives it a cozy yet whimsical vibe. Various disco balls and strobe lights light up the room to the beat of the electronic music. But the real sight was the people - a number of various cute - some very attractive - men sat in booths and at the bar. The cute bartender with the retro handlebar mustache gave a friendly nod to Tristan as he entered. Tristan spots Hugo in a booth to the right, sipping what looks like whiskey. #Lorne, give Tristan a chance to reply, then you walk in and see this scene plus whatever he's done |

Kylar felt like he blacked out on the way to the gym. He didn't remember getting there. Maybe that fifth MANgarita was a mistake. Once inside the gym, Kylar started to sober up listening to River and the Professor explain their idea. It was a good one. At least it sounded good. Kylar looks toward River, "Okay, this idea has some serious merit. The question I have and everyone has... where are going to find someone who has access to the PC system outside of the Professor, assuming we don't want to involve him." Before anyone can respond, "we did meet a guy who has some tech skill. He may be able to homebrew an app or something to get our dex access to the programming so we can dissect it. Thoughts?" Awaiting responses from the group, Kylar grabs a few treats from the spread River put out. The cupcake's effect may have been starting to subside, but that margarita. "Ugh...Ziggy. I always let you get me in trouble like this." Kylar finally checks his phone to see the message from Tristan and replies quickly <<To: Tristan>> Hey mann, yea its sorta kinda complicated. NanoKlink is involved in some things and stuff <<End text>> It wasn't great cause Kylar was still tipsy so hopefully Tristan could decipher it. |

On his way to Harden, Tristan got a reply from Kylar.
Tristan looked at the message funnily, trying to decipher it. He didn't know Kylar well enough yet to determine if the spelling and punctuation errors were intentional or not, and "things and stuff" was kind of vague. <<To: Kylar>> "Things and stuff"? Is everything okay? Do you need help? <<End Dext>> He didn't want to preempt his date, but if things were bad or if there was fallout from what happened in the pass with Ziggy... <<To: Ziggy>> Are you with Kylar? He sent me a weird dext. <<End Dext>> Now approaching Harden, Tristan flashed his Trainer ID at the bouncer and recalled his Pokémon. The place inside was fun, its Metapod theme clear. It wasn't quite like his usual haunt Aromatherapy back home in Castelia City, but it had a, well, harder edge to it. Almost like another bar he knew back home, Pursuit, with its Purrloin logo. Spotting Hugo, Tristan gives him a nod and raises a finger indicating to wait a moment while he gets a drink. "A Makuhita's Mark on the rocks, please," Tristan says with a flirty smile to the mustachioed bartender. If things didn't work out with Hugo... well, there were plenty of options at least. Charm: [result]11&2:2:1:2,4d6,4,11&4d6+4[/result] Coming back from the bar with his whiskey on the rocks, Tristan raises his eyebrows in greeting to Hugo, and sidles into the booth across from him. "Well hello again," Tristan starts friendly. "How was the rest of your day?" Charm: [result]19&3:6:2:3,4d6,5,19&4d6+5[/result] (+1 AP) |

There were a lot of things going on that Semira was having trouble understanding. "All these opposing factions, secret plans, why can't everyone just be friends!" She turned to River. "This may sound really dumb, but can't we do it the old fashioned way?" She takes the Psionic Lens out of her bag and attaches it to her camera. "Before we get all technical and go down a long path, why don't we see if we can just follow the trail?" #(I'm assuming here that the office has an external wall and a window facing where the Gengar was outside, if not I can get into explanation of what the lens does) She takes her camera, walks to the window of the office, focuses outside, and takes a picture to see if there's still residue of a psychic trail that might lead them directly to the source. |

Kylar, Ziggy, Semira:
River looks intrigued. "Trails? I didn't realize you could see that. Give it a shot." Semira takes a photo of Gengar's escape route with the Psionic lens, the Professor watching curiously on the TV. Unfortunately, the photograph doesn't seem to show any Psychic Residue at all. That's odd... #Edu Occult and Intuition checks please
Professor Fir strokes his beard. "I hate to tell you young man, but even I don't have direct access to the PC system. It's run by an independent non-profit organization out of Fort Mukilcoma. It was a decision made by the Pokemon League years ago, to try and keep the PC system free from manipulation and abuse. All of the ID data that's sent between trainers and the database in completely encrypted, so I doubt your friend will be able to hack it - and they don't tell me the encryption key." "Buuuut," he started with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, looking proud, "like any good programmer, I put in a backdoor. 'WeedleNeedle,' all one word. If you can somehow get direct access to the PC System machinery down in Mukilcoma, your tech friend can input that password and get access." |
