This was something I thought up in the spur of the moment after thinking about the move Sketch. I have worked on one homebrew class prior, one that was designed to be overpowered, so I'm not sure how this one will fare. Advice and criticism are welcome and encouraged. I'm also looking for alternate names for some of these The Artist Artist [Class] Static Prerequisites: Novice Focus, Novice Perception Effect: When you take this class, roll 1d10 to determine your Inspiration Colour. 1 is Red; 2 is Blue; 3 is Yellow; 4 is Green; 5 is Black; 6 is Brown; 7 is Purple; 8 is Gray; 9 is White; 10 is Pink. All of your Pokemon of that chosen Colour gain +1 to all their Base Stats. Use this for colour reference. War Paint Bind 1 AP - Extended Action Prerequisites: Novice Focus or Perception Target: A willing Pokemon Effect: You decorate one of your Pokemon with paint, in a design left up to the individual. This allows the pokemon to assume an alternate colour(Which must be declared at the use of the move) for the rest of the day, or until hit with a Water or Fire type attack. They assume all the benefits of being an Inspiration Colour during this period. Sketch Artist [Ranked 2] Static Rank 1 Prerequisites: Adept Focus or Perception Rank 2 Prerequisites: Master Focus or Perception Effect: Gain the move Sketch Broad Palette Prerequisites: Expert Focus or Perception Static Effect: Gain a second favourite colour. Additionally, once per day, at a DC 15 Focus check, you may reroll one of your favourite colours. If a pokemon is no longer your Inspiration Colour after this effect, they lose all benefits they gained as a result of the Artist Class. Realism Prerequisites: Master Focus or Perception Daily - Extended Action Effect: You can create photo-realistic pieces of work capable of fooling even the most perceptive of creatures, even you! They can be discerned with a DC 10 Perception check, with an additional +1 for every meter it is away from the target. They are immediately noticed as false when a meter or less away. Emotional Spectrum Prerequisites: Expert Focus or Perception At-Will - Extended Action Target: An Inspiration Colour pokemon with at least two tutor points Effect: The pokemon gains the ability Own Tempo or Moody. A Pokemon can only be targeted with this feature once. The target loses 2 Tutor points. Colours of the Craft Prerequisites: Adept Focus or Perception Static Effect: You and your pokemon gain a +1 to all accuracy rolls against Pokemon of your Inspiration Colour. Additionally, enemies receive a -1 to all accuracy rolls against your Inspiration Colour Pokemon. Composite Sketcher Prerequisites:Sketch Artist, Master Focus or Perception One Time Use/10 - Extended Action Target: An Inspiration Colour Pokemon with at least 2 tutor points Effect: The target Pokemon learns Sketch. The target loses 2 Tutor Points. A Pokemon can only be targeted by Composite Sketch one time Edited by Lwmons, Oct 26 2014, 06:09 PM.

This looks like a fun class, might have to keep it in mind for later on. |

So I really like the concept behind this class and honestly have made a few characters that would have definitely utilized it. Now I am not the greatest at knowing if a feature or class is overbalanced/under simply from lack of gameplay, but I was wondering why the prime features of the class-Artist, and its secondary component-Broad Palette, wouldn’t simply allow a player to pick a favorite color rather than that color be based on luck. If the players were allowed to pick the colors, I think it would allow them to personalize the class and align it more with their chosen character concepts and flavor. This is simply just a passing thought as I was curious on why you decided to base those features on luck rather than player preference. |

@Niria That is a valid point, but I did it this way because I was worried that players would take advantage of the bonuses and eliminate diversity in their team. I'll mull it over a bit more though, I might change it later. |

For Sketch Artist, does that grant 2 uses of Sketch per rank, 4 total? I'm having a bit of a knee-jerk reaction at a Trainer getting Sketch at all, due to the extremely high potential for abuse. Trainers already get access to a lot of moves through other classes, and giving them an "any" move on top of that, let alone 2-4, is extremely powerful. A single use of Sketch as a capstone feat might be better, imo. |

Hm, I suppose I understand and that is a very valid point. Wait. What if the artist's main ability gave the player a chance to roll and change their favorite color on a daily basis? This way players can't take advantage, and their favorite color/s could be based on a different color each day. (Which could be flavored as their "inspirational color" of the day). Edit: Also, yeah. I am in agreement with SuperVaderMan. Sketch has the potential to be extremely op and it would be crazy for one trainer to personally have that many uses of it. @SuperVaderMan That's why I made the second rank of it require Master Focus or Intuition, but I do think knocking it down to one use each might be a good idea. @Niria I like that idea. Will update shortly |

You might also want to specify that the mon is losing tutor points in exchange for the Ability they end up getting. Right now it reads as if the only real pre-req is that they *have* two TP, not that those TP are spent. |

Maybe I'm missing something, but are there any additional benefits beyond the +1 to each base stats for being an inspiration color mon? It seems kind of arbitrary to allow war paint to carry on that one specific benefit, beyond the loophole of passing on Moody and Own Tempo to anything you want. |
