Hi! I'm relatively new here and couldn't find any topics similar for pta so here we are.

I'm interested in creating 'stats' for items not in the player book. This ranges from things in the game that haven't been ported (such as choice items, exclusive items like marowak's bone or farfetch'd's leek, even newer items like assault vest) and even more creative items that have no real item they were based off of.

Let's begin!

(Type) Jet - hold item that can be consumed to give a move of (type) to gain the interrupt keyword for its immediate use. Cost:1700?

Choice scope - a held item that does not allow the wearer to use a different move, but lowers the moves accuracy check by -2(-3?). A roll of 1 always misses. The user is locked into the chosen move until removed from battle. If they re enter they may select a different move. Choice items do not alter a moves frequency. Cost: 4800?

Leek - if the holder is farfetch'd, the holder's crit range is reduced by -3. This bonus does stack with other moves and abilities that increase the range for crits. Cost: 2000?

Laser pointer - the holder's moves with damage roll whose maximum damage roll is no more than 30 always hit. Cost:2300?

Cost is an issue I'm not sure how to balance, but creating the items themselves doesn't seem to pose much of a challenge.
Anyway post away! Let's see what you guys can make.

Okay, first the choice items I'm pretty sure exist, as do unique signature items. The Type jet is way too strong. Making any attack an interrupt is seriously game breaking. Past that, yeah cost can be difficult to figure out and I have yet to master that art

I'm not sure the choice items and/or signature items are in PTA. The things like protector, magmarizer, and metal coat are, but none of the super specific, pokemon oriented ones are. If you could show me, I'd be very excited.

I figured the jets would be fine if it's a single use item. It's not like it gives an extra use of the move, so a battle frequency move will still get used up. Although I see how an interrupt cross chop could be good, even if it is only a one time action.

I would limit the intterupt moves to EOT or At Will moves. That just prevents something from an interrupt explosion from happening, which would be pretty broken.

I think thats reasonable.
Any insight for cost of items?

What are some of y'all's ideas?

I was thinking about a Glitch Ball for my campaign. Corrupts the pokemon's 'energised data' and causes the pokemon to become 'Glitch Type'. When a glitch Pokemon enters a normal Pokeball, the Pokeball becomes a Glitch Ball.

Here's the fun part; When a Pokemon manages to break free of a Glitch Ball, the Ball causes the pokemon to use Metronome, targeting itself.

Might be broken, but I see potential.

Also been thinking of Mini-Mega Marbles which provide a boost of like, +1 or +2 to a base stat (I'm using the alternative levelling system) and maybe an extra (cap)ability. It's mainly to introduce Megas as a whole to a less-experienced player group.

Patet Pâté; a Pâté made from mashed and fermented Normal-type Supressing Berries. When fed to a breeding pair of Normal-type Pokemon, their offspring have a 10% chance of being born typeless.

Alph Tiles; Effectively just a fluffed-up Pokeball that contains the Unknown depicted on the the tile. When used to spell out the name of an Ability, Capability or Move, the user gains said Ability, Move or Capability. Broken for SURE but sure is fluffy.

Edit for laser pointer:
The holders moves whose damage dice rolls max damage is no more than 30 do not require an accuracy check and always hit. Scatter moves that can use this bonus only apply it to the first 2 hits. All Moves that benefit from this bonus cannot crit, as they make no accuracy check; however, you may still roll for secondary effects (such as the burn chance on the move ember)

My group and I thought up a few snags for the wording and the new given explanation is what we found to be fair.
