Hi there, I'm one of the main collaborators of the original Barbershop Quartet homebrew, found here. Looking back on it, there were a lot of hiccups and balances that could have been made, so I decided to take charge. The result is this!

Barbershop Quartet

Trainer Combat: *****

Associated Skills: Focus, Command, Intuition, Charm, Guile

Barbershop harmony is an unaccompanied, four-part a cappella harmony. Each position in the group is tied to a specific Skill that decides the moves learned through the class. Each member is good on its own, but combining the four brings out their true power.

Barbershop Quartet
[Class] [Branch]
Prerequisites: A group of four trainers taking Barbershop Quartet at once; Novice Focus; Novice Command, Intuition, Charm, or Guile
Static
Effect: You learn the Moves Round and Helping Hand.

Note: When you take Barbershop Quartet, you must choose the position associated with the Skill you used to qualify for the class (Command, Charm, Intuition, or Guile), listed below. This Skill will be referred to as your Quartet Skill. In a single Quartet there can only be one of each position. Whenever you gain any Barbershop Quartet Feature (including this one), you also gain the position's associated tags.

Lead - Command - [+2 SpAtk]
Tenor - Intuition - [+Def or SpDef] [+SpAtk]
Baritone - Charm - [+HP] [+SpAtk]
Bass - Guile - [+SpAtk] [+Spd]

Improvise
Prerequisites: Barbershop Quartet, Adept Focus or Quartet Skill
Daily x3 - Standard Action
Effect: You may use one of the following Moves: Bug Buzz, Grasswhistle, Snore, or Uproar.

Harmonize
Prerequisites: A Cappella, Expert Focus or Quartet Skill
Daily x2 - Free Action
Effect: All of your moves gained through Barbershop Quartet or A Cappella gain the Friendly keyword for the remainder of the scene. Harmonize may not affect the Move Perish Song.

Key Change
Prerequisites: A Cappella, Expert Focus, Expert Quartet Skill
2 AP - Swift Action
Effect: The next damaging move you use this round that was gained through Barbershop Quartet or A Cappella will deal physical damage.

Perfect Pitch
Prerequisites: 4 Barbershop Quartet Features, Master Focus, Master Quartet Skill
Static
Effect: You may choose one ability to gain depending on your position: Pride or Competitive for Lead; Confidence or Rally for Tenor; Cute Tears or Interference for Baritone; Tinted Lens or Exploit for Bass.

A Cappella
[Ranked 3] [Branch]
Rank 1 Prerequisites: Barbershop Quartet
Rank 2 Prerequisites: Barbershop Quartet, Expert Quartet Skill
Rank 3 Prerequisites: Barbershop Quartet, Master Quartet Skill
Static
Effect: Learn two Barbershop Quartet Moves. You may choose any Move marked with the A Cappella Rank you are taking or lower. You must meet a Move’s Prerequisites to choose that Move.

Rank 1 Moves
- Disarming Voice (Bass)
- Noble Roar (None)
- Roar (None)
- Sing (Tenor)
- Growl (None)
- Supersonic (Baritone)
- Sonic Boom (Lead)

Rank 2 Moves
- Heal Bell (Tenor)
- Hyper Voice (Lead)
- Lucky Chant (Tenor)
- Metal Sound (Baritone)
- Screech (Baritone)
- Snarl (Bass)

Rank 3 Moves
- Boomburst (Lead)
- Chatter (Bass)
- Echoed Voice (None)
- Perish Song (None)

Something I would like to mention is that Quartet members are their own trainers; if one trainer takes A Cappella, the others do not have to take A Cappella as well. In fact, they do not have to take any Barbershop Quartet features at the same time as the others, aside from the base Class. Other than that, have at it! Any suggestions are welcome, particularly ones for what moves to try and replace Growl and/or Sonic Boom with. I originally had Sonic Boom as a move for anyone and Uproar for Lead, but then realized that Uproar is less powerful than Round and doesn't have nearly as good an effect. And no, I will not change Round for another move, as it really is what defines the class.
