"Disguise?" Zana rolled her eyes as Dr. Moon left the room. "If he had the willpower to stop talking, he could just be disguised as, you know, one of our Pokemon." She really didn't have anything against Dr. Moon - who knows what creative plan he was up to - but the difficulty of this mission was making her grumpy. "My crow can swoop in from out of no where to flinch someone - though that'd give us just a second to act. Other than that...this really isn't my forte." She pouted, deep in thought. "Would it be better to set up some diversion to slow them down? Maybe Echo can act all hurt and shit with her cute wittle Cleffa," she proposed, knowing it would irritate Echo. |

Echo didn't care; her 'cute wittle Cleffa' was better off in her hands, anyhow. The other idiots wouldn't know how to turn her into a machine of destruction, anyway!...Well, besides Moon, maybe, since he was Luna's fully evolved form, but it was doubtful. Didn't seem like he could actually use any of his moves, anyway. "They should be trained to NOT stop and help random strangers. I mean, it's an armored car. It might work, but they're more likely to speed on by." |

While Moon's off planning and disguising, Gavin finally notices Echo's little Zubat hiding her nose from him. "...The smell bothers her," he states, obviously. A moment later, he reluctantly gets up again. "I'll go shower up then." So then Gavin walks out of the conference room, heading for one of the free shower rooms Moon mentioned earlier. A quick wash is much less than he needed to get completely clean, after having gone so many months without washing at all, and it certainly wouldn't do anything to the stink soaked into his clothes. Hopefully, though, it would make him marginally more tolerable for Echo's Zubat. |

Zana frowns as Echo points out the obvious flaw in her plan. She was used to fighting in a ring, not planning heists. "You're right. You know, just tell me who to take out and I will." |

As it turns out, one can make quick travel time in a near-empty facility when one has a rolling chair as propulsion. It took only a few minutes for Doctor Moon to book it back to his lab, get dressed for the mission, then get back. With the significantly less hallway obstacles in the way, the doctor was able to shave his time down to thirteen minutes instead of 15 like his original estimate. And so, in the middle of their plotting, the door to the conference room opened again with that office chair in tow. With a significantly different rider holding a small, folded paper in his hand. Spoiler: click to toggle "Doctor Moon is ready for mission. Are grunts ready to.... oh great, Walking Trubbish Man is missing. At least grunts have plan ready, yes? We get Undead Slime Pile, get to hangar, drive to ambush point, get goods, stop by bank on way home to deposit paycheck. Agreed?" Little did he know, the others were still just as clueless about how to take down an armored van as he was. Edited by MasterBlade, Oct 18 2014, 03:23 AM.

Again, Gavin showed up at the conference room a few minutes after everyone else was ready, this time with hair visibly wet from water rather than grease. Even with the shower, though, he can still be smelled from a fair distance away, only this time the previous dumpster-smell is mingled with an odor vaguely of 'wet dog'. At least the stench in total wasn't as intense as it was before. "We got a plan?" He asks as his Venonat hops in and sits on his feet. "Best one I've heard is Confuse the driver and force the van off the road." Meanwhile, he glances at Echo's Zubat, trying to gauge whether it could handle his new smell better now. |

With the smell less overpowering, the Zubat seemed better. She didn't have her nose buried in her trainer anymore, at least, and remained perched on the snagger's shoulder. Meanwhile, said trainer thought for a moment, groaned, and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Shit. The windows on armored cars don't go down. I don't know if Confuse Ray will be able to go through." Liz said, sighing. "...Moon, can your Magnemite scramble electronics? Or do you have an EMP device?" She asked, starting to run out of ideas. "Maybe combine that with some road spikes or shooting out the tires; get them to come out of the truck, knock them out, take the goods." |

"Electronics won't penetrate hull. Best Opportunity is disabling vehicle motion through pothole. Pick section of road near end of path, blow hole in road, recover with thin layer of dirt or something." "Or drop a tree, move dumpsters to block road, get Snorlax. Regardless, grunts will not simply stop vehicle with moves in Doctor Moon's opinion." So right now the active plan was... there wasn't one. Wonderful. He was blowing his secret Rocket Company Halloween Party costume for a likely to-be-failed mission. Do they know how hard it is to find a purple body suit in Size Clefable? And contacts to boot? ...surprisingly easily actually. Humans were weird. In a desperate bid to find some way into the vehicle, the "Gengar" grabbed the mission folder and started scouring it for vehicle schematics. As a fellow engineer, he knew very well that large teams tend to get boastful of their designs in order to cover up flaws in other areas. Of course, a good backing of technical knowledge helps in poking those holes open. Weak gear drive, improper positioning of cup holders, anything that could be used to crack a hole in this thing. A boulder might not be able to break the armored tank, but a targeted strike at one's weakest angle is infinitely worse than an earthquake. Zana chuckled as a convincing looking Gengar entered the room. "Okay, that's pretty clever," she had to admit. As the team discussed their options, she felt out of her element. Zana was used to full out assaults, but not versus an armored truck. What could her Pokemon do other than attacking? "Omen and Absol are both pretty stealthy. Maybe we could get some Pokemon to sneak into the main cabin along with the guards as they open the door, and have them lay and wait until they attack?" She frowned, clearly not convinced of her own plan. She looked over Dr. Moon's shoulder (not hard, given that it was waist level for her) and tried to see if she could spot any helpful details in the mission specs. No, no NO! This was absolutely terrible! Whomever designed this vehicle had to have been a genious physicist. The hull's unique double-layer plating was simple enough, but inside that was a brilliantly-designed suspension system. The reason it could survive a boulder was because any one point of pressure was distributed around the vehicle; might as well been hit by a feather. Good for the driver, but absolutely terrible for anyone trying to force their way inside! ....wait... Was that? Oh. Ooooooooooh. A miraculous godsend! "ROUNDED DECIMAL POINT! WE HAVE WAY OF ENTRY!" This hatch on the top, likely designed for airport-like vertical baggage drops, had a rounded decimal when calculating the size in comparison to suspension. Specifically, it was one centimeter too short. In terms of the car's function to spread the blows across the entire hull, absolutely nothing. Suspension connects to the hatch, goes through it like a wave. But any direct hit to the hatch itself and that suspension doesn't spread out. It stays there, forcing the blow inwards towards the interior. A single breaking point, entirely invisible from the ground. "If Grunts stop vehicle motion, single tremendous force blows ceiling hatch open. Hatch opens, Grunts can target interior passengers, electronics, hull protection disregarded. Tiny window of opportunity, best Grunts have." The doctor quickly reached into a pocket in the suit's back, one of the costume's spines visibly vanishing. From this he withdrew his Electromagnetic Gauntlets from the day before. "Doctor Moon bears specific system in gloves for deploying magnetically-targeted bombs. If Doctor can get point of elevation, bombs can stick at exact points of maximum pressure. Hatch blows open, Grunts go in. But only if vehicle motion is stopped."
