The day was not yet over, but Vicky still felt very weary. It had been quite a day so far and she still had work to do. The pair trundled down the mountanside for a good while, Victoria walking in near silence with eyes glazed over. Her leg began to throb and her hip ached on top of that, but she kept up a slow march down the trail. Her mind was several miles away, thinking, planning, plotting, hoping, dreaming, fantasizing as she walked. The thief responded to her body's cries to stop by mentally checking out, setting herself on autopilot to drown out the pain and heat that threatened to seize her and force her to a halt. Soaked in sweat, covered in dirt and brush, shoulders stooped as if they held the weight of the world, she stepped into town. A town that didn't look any better than she herself did. Trash, brick and wood and smoking rubble, lined the dirty streets as people hurried about. Most looked worried, some were unphased, and everyone had that certain electricity to them. Life, movement, anxiety, urgency. All of them but Victoria. She trudged through the streets like the walking dead she felt like, scanning the shops and stores for a doctor's office. Upon spotting one off the beaten path, Vicky headed inside, not bothering to see if the boy followed suit. She's welcomed kindly enough with their greeting that sounded the same anywhere she went. "Hey..." she began in an exhausted tone, the words more or less a sigh, "I know you must be very busy, what with that thing flying around and whatnot, but I need to see a doctor." As simply as that, Victoria hiked her leg up on the nearby furniture to undo her bandanna from around her wound, revealing deep puncture marks from a nasty bite on her shin. "My hip hurts a bit, too. I think it might be bruised, I was thrown pretty hard into a tree when I was attacked in the woods," she explained with eerie calm. It was as if she'd done this before. |

The nurse smiles and shows her inside to a table having her sit on it. "The doctor will be in in just a few dear. Until then just sit here" she leaves with a smile. After about 5 minutes a doctor comes inside. The doctor looks at her and goes to work bandaging, and adding oinments to her various wounds and brusies. "you will be just fine dear nothing permanent." The doctor leaves and the nurse comes in. "Glad everything is going to be ok!" She says smiling. |

A red haired boy with tattoos notices a blue haired kid as he is walking down the street. He looks at him for a bit before going up to him. hey! How's it going? Your the kid that was sending water at the ship in the harbor earlier if I remember correctly. He grins and looks at him. "I'm Zack! You look like someone who has fun a lot. Care if I tag along with you?" |

"Yeah, thanks..." Victoria sighs wearily. Well, at least it was a relief to know that she wasn't about to catch an infection or have to walk around on her bum leg all day. She gave a polite wave over her shoulder as she left the doctor's office, and although she didn't show it she was very grateful to be seen and patched up. Vicky just didn't have the energy for small talk or graciousness at the moment. As she picked up her bag and left, the thief happened to catch sight of Trinidad conversing with another one of the locals. Tan guy, kind of like herself, only with tattoos covering his torso and vibrant hair of red. She paused on the fringe of their little chat, and the gears turned in her head a slight bit. Couldn't hurt to have another hand on the ship if the cargo was worth it. But on the other hand more people tended to cause more problems. After a few moments of consideration, Victoria Reaver made up her mind. "Only if you pitch in for the trip," she interrupted in her tired voice that was slowly becoming the norm. As she spoke she walked up behind Trinidad and pulled the still unconscious Meowth from his shoulders, placing the feline in her weighted net and tossing both over her shoulder. "Speaking of which," she piped up to the blue-haired boy, "let me see this ship of yours. And the cargo. I'm gonna need to see what I'm in for before I even touch a map, let alone purchase rations and supplies for the trip." Edited by Corporal Lance, Sep 6 2014, 09:04 PM.

Zack looks at the girl who was speaking. "Oh! Well judging by that I would say you are the navigator and accountant." He laughs and Reach's into his pockets and hands her some money. I suppose a 1000 will suffice for supplies for us? I'm Zack by the way. |

Trinidad smiles and agrees to Zack joining. " the more the merrier!" He leads them down to the docks and shows them to a white ship with Dragonair head figures. "There she is the fastest ship in the water as far as I know." He leads them on board. Its roughly 65 feet long with a single mast. He takes them down into the cargo hull and there they find 4 crates. One is chained up and locked the other 3 have berries, moomoo milk, mareep wool and water inside of them. "Well that's the cargo as I guess" He laughs and looks at them. |

Victoria said nothing as she accepted the coins from their new acquaintance with an open palm... but she did smile a genuine grin. She was taking a liking to this new guy already! Anyone liberal with their gold was fine by her standards! "Among other things..." she comments to Zack. Heck, she'd probably be captain by the end of this little journey if she had her way. "Victoria." She followed suit as Trinidad guided them down to the docks, still unconscious feline over shoulder. The ship wasn't too bad, but not what she expected. She wrinkled her nose at the thought of the size of it. A small ship was great for a small crew, but if she had to share a room with any of the boys she'd up and sleep below the deck with the cargo. Or make the two of them do it. She liked that way better. Even knew the way she was gonna spin it to make them want to. They boarded the schooner and walked down below the decks so she could examine the cargo. Soooo... some provisions were accounted for, and some wool she could probably get a nice price for. But berries and milk were perishables, especially the milk. Wouldn't last three days. And she'd have to be a fool to eat nothing but berries the entire trip. Nuts to that. Vicky made a mental note to pick up some bread and jerky, maybe some potatoes and carrots for stew. Well... the wool was worth the trip. Almost. Work was work, it was better than nothing. And if she could manage to sell off anything they didn't run through she could pocket the profit. But one thing nagged at her. It nagged at all thieves, and as much as she told herself an everyone else that she wasn't like other petty crooked... it gnawed at her. A locked chest. She had to see what was inside. Trinidad and Zack look on as Victoria starts taking stock and inventory of the cargo. She walks over to the locked and chained chest and starts to fiddle with it before taking out a couple of picks. She starts to move them inside of the lock listening to sounds of pins being set into place. After playing with the lock for 5 minutes she hears a loud click as the lock comes undone. It falls to the ground with a loud clank, the chains start to slide off. Trinidad let's out a low wistle. "Nice Victoria" Trinidad says. He walks over and opens the chest. Inside the chest is several ingots of white gold and silver, 12 blue sapphires, 2 rubies, a diamond, a block of strange dark metal, and a very old and worn leather backed book. You all look at it stunned and in awe. Trinidad smiles. " ummm I think we found something really really good! Way to go crew!!!" Edited by argent, Sep 6 2014, 10:05 PM.

Victoria kneels down before the chest, setting the Meowth down and cinching the net with the attached rope to ensure that it didn't escape, and produces her apricorn carving set. A set of knives, chisels, scoops, and other associated tools wrapped in a neat cloth bundle. For carving out apricorns and nothing else, or so she told people. But the real benefit of these tools would become apparent. Vicky grabbed a knife and a chisel and inserted them into the lock, feeling around for the tumblers within to release the chains and reveal to her the bounty within. It took a good while, but Victoria Reaver did not become agitated. Lock-picking was an art that could not be rushed, so she took slow, steady breaths as she fiddled with the tumblers. It felt like an eternity, but her heart skipped a beat as the lock gave way, clicking open with a sharp plink. "Comes with experience..." she commented, sliding the chains from the chest eagerly. Her breath paused as she opened the chest slowly, anticipation building within her, before thrusting it open all at once. Her pupils dilated at the sight that greeted her. Time slowed to a crawl, and the wind left her lungs. "Ah-h-h..." a shaky gasp escaped her as she took a step back. Gold. Diamonds! More money than she had ever seen in her entire lifetime, sitting now right in front of her! And all they had to do was sail away to parts unknown... She could buy a house, no, an island! Live out the rest of her days on prime Kingler roasted up by a crew of servants dedicated to her every whim, never having to lift another finger as long as she lived! A maniacal grin lit up her face as the shining gold sparkled in her eyes. Her mouth became dry and her face flush with red as she slammed the chest shut. "Not. A word. To anyone," she threateningly hissed to her crewmates, composing herself again. Victoria took a moment to wipe the excitement sweat from her brow before speaking again. "If anyone catches wind of this, anyone at all, we're all as good as dead, do you understand? We'll be raided in a heartbeat or mugged in the street or thrown in prison and all that... that money..." Victoria began to shudder, face growing red again as she lost her composure thinking about it. She grew breathless, but swallowed hard and continued. "*ahem*...It'll be confiscated by some crooked marshall and we'll be thrown in the brig. So if anyone breathes a word about this I will personally cut your throat while you sleep!" Leaving the Meowth tied and in the net, she shouldered her rucksack and prepared to leave, stopping at the stairs leading topside. "One of you needs to stay here to guard the stash. I need to buy a map and actual food for the journey, among other things." After taking a single step up the stairs, Victoria turned to the two boys once more and pointed an accusing finger at them. "And if either of you even think about taking any of that for yourself... I'll know. I will know," she imposed, staring daggers at the pair before finally heading out.
