So my friends and I are starting a brand new campaign in a homebrew region. Even before we started making sheets and writing up back stories, I had decided that I wanted to play a Researcher/Mentor with an Eevee starter and that I eventually wanted to be able to study the genetic variances in Eevee, with hopes of manipulating breeding to bring about new elemental types for Eevees. My job was made much easier when the GM allowed us to roll to see if our startersbwould be Shiny and I rolled a 100, and the GM said it's shiny abilities would be that it has crazy mutated genetics where it could take on two elemental types, and it could pass on those unstable genetics to its offspring.

So, I invented new Eveelutions for every type. Your opinions would be most valuable!

Not bad. Not bad at all, though personally I think the Normal type could have a bit of a better name. Eeveeon certainly sticks to the Eeveelution naming scheme, but I would go with Pateon, as "Patet" is the Latin word for plain, or normal.

Other than that, though, I'd say these look pretty good.

I might recommend using the ones in Do Porygons Dream of Mareep, the PTU splat that deals with this. If those aren't to your liking, however, these seem good.

Oh, an one thing about the Eevee lines: they do follow an extremely straightforward pattern, so much so the line's practically codable. Just something to consider.

Okay, one last thing: the Ideadrome somewhere in the backlogs of the Homebrew section here has a class which does this specifically. I can quote it for you if you'd like, see if your GM might approve.

You may want to have a look at my own renditions of a Normal and Ghost Eeveelution, Runeon and Mummeon (if you don't want a mummy theme change the Mummy Ability to Cursed Body and change the name to Spectreon)

Cough cough.

Also, "Do Porygon Dream of Electric Mareep" already does this really well - and several of the names are the same, it appears, though that's probably just coincidence. Not to mention, you seem to break the pattern of Eeveelutions having the same, but rearranged Base Stats, or even the same total Base Stats on occasion. It's not a massive issue, but it's a pattern that helps keep things balanced and makes sure no-one feels shafted by picking an Eeveelution that has lower BST than another. The same applies to the levels moves are learned at, although that's a little less balance and a bit more consistency focused.

When making a homebrew 'mon, especially one that is related to a canon 'mon, basing their stats off of another Pokemon with the Base Stats, Abilities, Moves, and Types possibly changed to equivalent but equal setups is generally the way to go to make sure it's balanced, or at least at the power level you want it to be at. Not that I think there's anything earth-shatteringly broken here - the stats could be used as-is if you really wanted to - but the disparities are a little odd.

Unstable Genetics (your thing, not the thing in the class) and Genesis/Heirloom are interesting, but the former is pretty complicated and the latter seems more like a plot device than anything else. I'm not sure what to cut out of it (perhaps just allowing it to benefit from certain Eeveevolver features before you actually get them would be an interesting idea, if you go that route), and the latter should really just be a Capability, so it doesn't take up an ability slot and no absurd shenanigans happen (like it being Mold Broken or Traced).

I think it's an additional ability, Dr. If it isn't, though, he's right, get the GM to fix that ASAP.

I didnt eve look in the Porygon book, silly me! I do very much like Runeon (I know Eeveeons kind of a stupid name but I couldn't think of a better name at the time!) And I like Mummeons write up but I still like the name Obliveon better, heheh. Heirloom and Genesis were designed to act like a Capabilites and not take up an Ability slot. I might talk to my GM about the Eeveevolver class there, though we may modify it to fit more of a research angle. Thanks for your help everyone.

...I wasn't aware 3 months was a year. But still, that's older than you should be posting in a thread for something like that.
