Tristan didn't move a muscle. He felt like Wingulliver, from that old story, Wingulliver's Travels. In one part of it, the main character (a Wingull named Wingulliver) was captured by a bunch of teeny tiny Lillipups. Lillipuptians, they called themselves. They held Wingulli down with a series of elaborate ropes. That was a bit how Tristan felt now. If he made one wrong move, the whole thing might collapse and Flabebe might run off scared. And he couldn't miss this chance to find a rare flower fairy. "Well hello there, little miss," he said kindly. "Do you like that honey? I got it especially for you." A broad smile crossed his face, he couldn't help it. He was genuinely happy to see this little sprite. He'd heard tales of the good luck they brought to Grass-type pokemon and plants for ages, but they weren't native to Unova. Cautiously, he spoke again. "Would you like to meet some of my friends? They're Grass-type Pokemon." Charm: [result]19&6:5:4,3d6,4,19&3d6+4[/result] (+1 Trainer AP; included) #Trying to get a read on her mood: Intuition: [result]11&1:3:4,3d6,3,11&3d6+3[/result] |

The little Flabebe seems to find you interesting, and she definitely perks up when you mention your grass type Pokemon. She nods her head excitedly and hops forward closer to you, still clutching her red flower. |

As you stroll down Route 2, you get to a part that has a different berry tree with peach colored berries. You can hear buzzing coming from some tall grass near the tree. |

There you see it. Three Combee buzzing above the flowers, occasionally swooping in for a snack. Two are male and seem to be guarding a docile looking female, who you recognize from the little red triangle on the middle face. You remember from your time at culinary school that females make the very best honey, as the males cannot evolve into Vespiqueen. You realize that there doesn't seem to be a hive nearby. They must be escorting this female. |

Hmmmmm... Jonathan gets a wide crooked grin on his face. "Alright, Rambo. Let's try to grab these guys." "Maa!" Speed(7) |

You definitely grab the attention of the Combees after sending out a Pokemon. The two male guard buzz forward aggressively and attack Rambo while the female stays back, half hiding in the tall grass. Tristan releases Budew and Turtwig, who appear at his sides. "These are Cordelia," he says gesturing toward Budew, "and Barnaby. We're traveling together looking for types of flowers and Grass-Type Pokémon never seen before. You can see I've taken good care of this Budew by the luster of her leaves. Doesn't that all sound fun?" While Tristan had gotten out Budew's and Turtwig's Pokéballs, he also got out an empty one. He set it down on the grass in front of him. "It sure would be nice to have someone else along who knew about caring for flowers though. Sometimes it can be a big job! It's why I came looking for you. I heard you were really good with flowers. Is that true? Might you like to come along with me?" he asked, proffering the Pokéball. Charm: [result]14&4:3:3,3d6,4,14&3d6+4[/result] (+1 Trainer AP; included) |
