Glad for an excuse to follow the man out of the alley, Tristan fell in step behind Professor Fir. Good thing he didn't have to actually try to fix that device, he knew very little beyond point and click, a few programs, and how to program his portable grower (it used the Ekans programming language.) A little crestfallen that Fir hadn't recognized the name immediately, he consoled himself with the fact that he'd gotten in the man's good graces at least. When Professor Fir greeted the other young man at the end of the alleyway, he listened carefully. This guy looked like someone out of Unova... and had he seen him on the train? He wasn't sure. He'd see how this played out. And wait -- who was this on the roof?? This was beginning to become a very strange meeting in the alley indeed. Edited by joviality, Jul 3 2014, 10:35 AM.

Kylar's impressions were right. He was an old coot. An old coot who got mouthy. It is a good thing his mother instilled values in him. Before hopping down he whispers to Knuckles, "Keep your eyes and ears peeled, you never know when this guy might give us a an opening. Plus, we might as well get familiar with the place, since we were never allowed in here before" Kylar hops down and Knuckles follows his master by jumping onto his shoulder. He turns to Ziggy, "Can you believe this shit? What do you think he really needs from us?" Kylar shuffles along making sure to take his time and take in eveeything these new faces say to him and each other. |

"Awww, cheer up little guy" Ziggy says as he starts idly strumming to placate the pokemon. Ziggy casually meanders in the direction of the alley, slowly following the others there. When he arrives at the alley (last) he takes a look and says "electrical problems, eh?" casually strumming his guitar as if to punctuate each sentence. Turning to Kylar he says "Man, I got no idea. (strum) hmmmmm (strum) Metalhead knows this stuff (louder strum)" and Ziggy reaches down for his pokeball and tosses out a magnemite. |

Ziggy: You manage to keep your new little Pokemon from screaming, and he hops after you. All: The Professor takes in the rag tag group of trainers. "So you all must be my alpha testers. Splendid!" He's momentarily distracted as Ziggy lets out Metalhead. "Oooh, a Magnemite! I bet he originally came from the Power Plant, didn't he? Yes yes, that will work..." he said, deep in thought. He starts walking toward the front door of the lab, and as an afterthought adds "Follow me." You catch up with the Professor and follow him into the lab. He flicks a flashlight on, but for the most part the lab is pitch black, save for one sad looking scientist still toiling away by the light of his Litwick. In the shadows you can make out various large impressive equipment and rows of lab benches. "I originally set up my lab in Pokane because the East Kadia Power Plant was so close by. My experiments in Pokemon Energy takes a large amount of power, you see, and Pokane was nothing but a bunch of farms back then. But now that the town has grown, they put our lab on a separate generator to handle the load. And as you can see," he exasperatedly waved at the darkness, "it does not appear to be working." Professor Fir leads you into what appears to be his office. His desk has papers stacked to the brim, and there are a number of bug Pokemon preserved in glass lining his walls. "Now where did I put them..." He rummages around in his desk for a moment before pulling out a stack of Pokedexes, and he hands one to each of you. "I'm sorry to say that's just a standard Pokedex - it won't do much more than identify Pokemon. I was going to install my software this morning, but without any power I can't work my equipment. And that blasted Power Plant still hasn't gotten back to me." "I have an idea. The four of you should go to the Plant and sort this mess out. That Magnemite may be familiar with the place, and it's just a short walk up Route 1. Then when you return, I can upgrade your Pokedex. I can even give you a little reward for aiding me," he says with a glint in his eye. |

Being his first time in the lab, Kylar dawdles behind the group with Knuckles taking mental pictures of the lab layout and looking for anything that seems odd before entering Fir's office. As he enters Fir's office he is completely blown away by the clutter, but Kylar learned early, always look for clues. Kylar: You can't see much in this darkness, but nothing seems out of ordinary as far as you can tell. |

Kylar non chalantly grabs the pokedex, and turns to everyone, "I'll meet you guys over there. I saw a flyer about our neighbors stupid cat. I'm gonna have Knuckles track it down since he is always harassing it anyway" Kylar looks at Ziggy and laughs slightly, "Remember when Knuckles tracked Pooky down last time" before anyone can stop him, Kylar and Knuckles are out the door with the pokedex. He turns to Knuckles, "Sniff out Pooky, Knuckles and lead the way" The two head toward the PokeCenter with Knuckles out front. Typical small towns. No consideration for other people's time. I come all this way and the Pokédex wasn't even special. Well, might as well help him out or this trip might be all for nothing. He accepted the Pokédex as it was handed to him. "Sure, I'll help out. Was it just that the generator isn't it working, or are there other problems too? I want to make sure I deliver a full report." And speed this process along, he thought silently. The guy with the guitar seemed a little out of place... Who carried a guitar with them everywhere they went? But maybe it was some kind of fashion statement. He looked like some kind of rocker out of Tangelawick back home. Messy, but in a sort of fashionably disheveled way. Derelìct. He knew the look. The guy might be alright, that was still to be decided. The other one with the little knight Pokémon was something else altogether though. Did he think he was some kind of ninja to be climbing the walls like that? And he looked like he was suspicious of everything all the time. Needed to relax, definitely. And, as Tristan was looking him over... He abruptly left saying something about a cat. Ooooookay. The third one was highest in his esteem; he seemed moneyed in that good kind of family-had-a-home-in-Mareep's-Vineyards kind of way. Probably had decent taste too. Finishing his appraisal, he spoke up once again, speaking to the remaining two men. "Well, what do you say, fellas? Shall we help him out?" A broad smile crossed his face. Kylar: Knuckle's sense of smell seems to be thrown off from Professor Fir's musty office - he looks a little confused. But now that you're at the PokeCenter, perhaps the fresh air will allow him to track better, or you can find clues another way. |

Arriving at the PokeCenter, Kylar is still stunned that Knuckles hadn't caught the scent, Knuckles! On me, now!", the two sit and survey the area looking for a clue. It hits Kylar, Pooky could never turn down a free meal. Kylar reaches in his pack and grabs a cookie he packed, "Knuckles, take this over there, circle the building, and hurry back." Pawniard scampers to the corner with the cookie and disappears behind the building before quickly returning. Kylar watches the food. perception [result]5&1:1:2,3d6,1,5&3d6+1[/result] Knuckles tracks around the PokeCenter [result]11&11,1d20,0,11&1d20[/result] |
