This was touched on before, but opinion was divided. There are a lot of ways to meddle with pokémon base stats in order to alter base stat relations, many of which take place on pokémon that may already have stats allocated. When using Vitamins, Stat Suppressant Berries, the Mentor's Changing Viewpoints feature to alter Nature, or any other such method to change BSR on a pokémon with pre-defined stats, how should we handle the resulting "illegal" stat distribution, especially since the trainer has presumably spent unrecoverable resources on the ability to change that distribution? The obvious result from my group's point of view is to allow a full pokémon stat respec, taking back all the level-up points and reallocating them, just as you would with evolution. A bit of clarification here would be nice, though. Needing to spend level up points towards correcting BSR would make these stat alteration methods less valuable, and I'd argue this discourages sticking with the pokémon you catch if any change you want to make is best handled by breed-and-replace. |

When a poke evolves you restat it anyway. So a lot of the times you do this while the poke is young, fix the distribution when it evolves. For one stagers this is trickier, but its encouraged for gms to make things you capture, well, usable. As for how you fix the bsr once you muck it up, you are intended to just use future. Level up stat UPS to correct it. |
