Wind Runner, Flight Question; some clarification needed

Ok, so I am building a character for a new game I am in (an overweight flying monk with healing powers and a Drifloon) and we are starting at level 5. Since I could technically start with it t level 5, I took a look at the Flight feature and became very confused.

For reference, it says:

Flight
[+Attack or +Special Attack] [+Speed]
Prerequisites: One With the Winds, Adept Acrobatics
2 AP - Swift Action
Effect: You gain a Sky Speed equal to your Levitate Speed plus your Acrobatics or Perception Rank for the remainder of the round

However, the Base feature for the Windrunner states that you:
"...have a total Levitate Speed equal to 4 plus half of the higher of your Acrobatics or Perception Rank."

So my question is this. Let's say that I am level 5 with both Acrobatics and Perception at Adept. This means that my Levitate Speed is 6 (not bad at all). Then let's say that I activate Flight. Do I then get a sky speed of "4 plus half my rank in either skill (so 6) plus the bonus from Flight (4 for either skill)," Giving me a Sky speed of 10. Or is the first modifier from my Wind Runner Feature (half the rank of Acrobatics or Perception) replaced with the full rank of either of those skills, giving me a base Levitate of 4 plus the full rank (another 4) making the temporary Sky speed only 8?

Also, side note, what happens if I fly straight up with Flight, and then don't use it again, do I take falling damage equal to the difference between the amount I can levitate off the ground (3 in this case), or do I just float back down because I am not technically hitting anything?

Thanks, much love to the Devs, you all are doing a great job.

You end up with a Sky speed of 10 in that example.

You wouldn't take falling damage in that case. Would be kind of silly for the class to be so limited and potentially self-harming in that way.

Cool, thanks.

It just struck me as odd that at level 6, I can fly faster than Tornadus for a round.

Don't forget that it maxes out at 16 for a round (Max rank plus virtuoso), for insane speed.
