Useful Charts; No type chart?

I would like to bring up that there isn't a level up chart for players and pokemon, mostly players. Yes, there is reference material but visual tools are the most helpful for being able to make sure all my ducks are in a row. I started a level 1 character and nobody caught that I cannot level my skill ranks above novice until level 2. We're pretty new to the system so I think we'd really benefit from a chart like this.

well, the changes for a player aren't really different enough to warrant a chart, but I could see a quick list put together in one place being useful. As an example:
Trainer Levels

Trainers gain an additional Edge on every even level (2, 4, 6, etc.)
Trainers gain an additional Feature or Edge on every odd level (3, 5, 7, etc.)
Trainers cannot have skills ranked above Novice until Level 2.
Trainers cannot have skills ranked above Adept until Level 6.
Trainers cannot have skills ranked above Expert until Level 12.
Each level that Trainers unlock a new skill rank, they gain an additional Edge that must be used to rank a skill up to a rank below their new maximum.

The list of trainer advancement changes all in one place exists, p19, "Character Advancement" (though it only restates skill level restrictions implicitly):

Trainer Levels

»» Every Level you gain a Stat Point. Trainers don’t follow Base Relations, so feel free to spend these freely.
»» Every odd Level you gain a Feature or an Edge.
»» Every even Level you gain an Edge
»» BONUS: Each level where you unlock a new Rank for your Skills (2 for Adept, 6 for Expert, 12 for Master), you gain an additional Edge. This Edge may be spent on any Skill Edge lower than the one you are unlocking (only up to Basic Skills at 2, up to Adept Skills at 6, and up to Expert Skills at 12) or any other Edge for which you meet the prerequisites.

The bonus edge isn't skill-only, you can take non-skill edges with it. The important part is that you can't have two "best skills" at the moment you unlock a new "best".

It might be worth putting the "Keep in mind you cannot raise Skills above Novice at your starting level!" part in bold, but it does say those words exactly in the Character Creation chapter under Edges. Someone in our group missed that skill restriction as well, though that was with the 1.03 character creation layout. Since skill ranks are the primary means of gating features, it's worth emphasizing, especially as "1 edge = 1 skill rank" is intuitive enough that I think people skip reading the actual "Skill Edges" box which also states level prerequisites.
