Now that the group is spending more time in Kanto, they've come to the realization that it's a lot like Johto. Same Pokemon, same buildings, same trainers... just feels like spring instead of summer, really. Nonetheless, Kanto is the original place for trainers to get powerful; three of the latest Champions have come from Kanto, so this place has got to have some kind of talent for making perfect trainers, huh? |

Merchant is sent flying backwards from the rock. Ouch. Merchant waves at Bayleef, and points at trainerdude. The pokemon nods, and runs forward, sending a spray of leaves at the pokemon. He then follows up with a cannon shot as well, attempting to contain the trainer pokemon. The poor Trainerdude is knocked cold onto the ground from the leaves, making him easy prey for the ball cannon! Unfortunately Merchant underestimates the power of his new toy; the force of the ball leaves the Geodude's noggin cracked, and it's knocked out. The 'captured' Geodude turns back, and runs for its trainer, trying to scoop up the balls it has dropped... |

Merchant points at the Geodude and Bayleef nods, sending a flurry of leaves to finish it off. [result]19&19,1d20,0,19&1d20[/result] He then walks over, investigating the scene. How peculiar... He looks inside the bag as well, counting up everything in it. |

The last Geodude is knocked out easily. EXP Merchant roots through the bag... disappointed to find that it contains mostly rocks. There are a few balls here and there; [result]2&2,1d3,0,2&1d3[/result] containing Geodude (Level [result]11&1,1d3,10,11&1d3+10[/result]), and [result]2&2,1d3,0,2&1d3[/result] empty ball(s). There's one Great Ball at the bottom of the bag... it's shaking kind of rapidly. |

Merchant pockets the empty balls for now, recalling the third Geodude, and putting the trainer-dude in a ball as well, not caring that it's unconscious. He would have to decide what to do with it later. He picks up the great ball and tosses it out, keeping Bayleef at the ready. |

The trainerdude's beaming into a ball is somewhat... rough. Merchant gets the feeling that really hurt the Pokemon. Merchant deploys the Great Ball to find... a very emaciated Hiker. He's nearly unconscious, and looks up at Merchant weakly as he lays on the ground. "Food... please..." |

Merchant nearly collapses at the sight of a human coming out of the pokeball. Nonetheless... Merchant finds a stick, spearing it through the rattata. Calling out one of the numel's, he sets up a small fire and begins to roast it, and has Koffing produce some rather gross looking water...but water nonetheless. "Eat when ready." Humans could digest this right? He immediately begins to inspect the ball the hiker came from to see what was different about it. [result]17&3:4:5,3d6,5,17&3d6+5[/result] |

Merchant goes over the ball over and over and over... but there's absolutely nothing wrong with this ball. It's absolutely run-of-the-mill. The Hiker quickly gobbles down the cooked Rattata and water. This guy will eat anything. With some of his strength back, he perches up a little more. "The Geodude... I don't know what happened. I caught a bunch... but then one got a hand on my leg... the mechanism went off, and I... ah... it was a freak accident..." |

Merchant looks at the guy. Then back at the ball. Then back at the guy. "Hold still." With that, merchant presses the ball 'recall' mechanism. |

When Merchant presses the recall mechanism, the Hiker isn't affected; however, one of the balls containing a Geodude is sucked into the ball Merchant is holding. The entire ball. |
