Theme Music is now mandatory

The largest metropolis in Johto, Goldenrod has always been a hot spot for up-and-coming trainers. The city's Gym Leader, Whitney, is renowned for not only being accepting of students, but also incredibly tough; her Miltank is a force to be reckoned with.

Pokemon battles aside, the city features a massive shopping center, a large flea market (with hobby shops, such as the bike shop), a Game Corner, and of course, the massive Radio Tower. There's much adventure to be had in Goldenrod; the city never sleeps, after all.

"I wouldn't mind but I don't really think I could handle the gym at the moment. I really haven't done much training with them. We could split up and get stuff done a little quicker." She's slightly embarrassed by how little she's helped her mon grow. E

"You don't need to try and take on the leader right off the bat. Taking on one of the gym trainers would be a good way to test yourself. But if you would rather split up, how about we meet back at the pokemon center in a couple hours? The main bits of equipment that we need are at least a hundred feet of rope and a gas mask for you" Jones checks his watch.

As Jones and Reya walk into the center, they're greeted by a not-so-friendly figure bumping into them... oh no, it's the Merchant!

Merchant briefly looks at the two before walking right by, handing four balls to the Nurse. With that done, he turns around and walks back to the duo. A small, yellow diamond badge sticks out from his plain brown robes, a symbol from the Goldenrod Gym.

"Good evening. What can Merchant do for you today?"

Running into the robed figure was rather startling, what with the secrecy and dialect. "Uh nothing really. We were just grabbing some more specialized supplies for a delve."

Jones gives a nod. "Been a while merchant, was starting to wonder if you'd given up on the whole Pyramid thing. Oh, just so you're aware, Fir's been relieved of command at the site. Apparently the expedition is being funded by a Mr. Mythrel." He grimaces. "Merchant, as much as I don't really like your attitude sometimes, I've gotta tell you, I like Mythrel's even less. He's a sociopathic man-child who seems to be under the impression that he "owns" people. At least, he likes to say he does, and I'm fairly certain that he's not joking when he says it. There's also guards at the Pyramid now, so you may have issues getting back in if you do decide to go back. We've also had a couple new explorers brought on-board while you were gone." He pauses. "So that's what you've missed out on. What've you been up to?"

"Merchant met him...briefly. He was not interested in business, so Merchant had no interest in him. Merchant has not given up not yet given up on pyramid, merely had to acquire some new tools.

Merchant gestures towards a large sniper-rifle like device on his back and a fossil regenerator on his wrist.

"Should he have trouble getting in, Merchant can find his own way.
As well, Merchant has been visiting gyms for training."

Merchant pauses, and begins to shuffle through his bags. He pulls out a second pack from inside, showing a long coil of rope, a water-proof flashlight, a filtration mask and some night-vision goggles.

"Merchant does not suppose some of these are supplies you are hunting for."

Jones laughs. "Trust you to have exactly what we're looking for. Reya here is in need of a filtration mask, and we also need the rope." Jones pauses, considering Merchant. "We've found a lead on what could be a unique Apricorn ball variant. You know a lot about pokeballs; you ever seen anything like this?" Jones pulls out a stone replica of some sort of Apricorn ball. "Even if we find the base material for it down inside that giant bulb, we still need to have someone make it into an actual ball."

Merchant analyzes the replica.

"Merchant has not worked with capture tech in a while but..."

Merchant takes a nice long look at the apricorn diagram... and the info comes to him.
