The island of Cinnabar is a small one, but its Trainers are notoriously tough. It's famous for having one of the strongest Gyms around, but the people are also quite hospitable. It's rumored that some research went on here once, but that's a rumor spread the robbers and vandals of the massive Mansion to the north... next to the active volcano.

"We used to have them here, but we moved em to that old mansion... haven't been able to charge on in ages."

He turns back to the wall, and the interns scatter. "Now if you want it, go get it!"

Merchant nods, and begins to disassemble the parts of the third machine. However, he makes a quick stop to the working machine he just fixed and places in Bulbasaur and Wooper's fossils.

Merchant departs for the abandoned factory. It might be dangerous, but in merchant's mind that just meant it was probably valuable.

Merchant makes his way toward the large factory on the edge of town, near the docks... but when he gets there, he quickly discovers that it's actually a big, ornate mansion. A sign next to it says "Old Pokemon Laboratory". So which is it; factory, mansion, or laboratory?

Merchant might not find out, because the door is locked.

Merchant opens a pokeball, Sneasel popping out.

"Help pick lock."

Him and the Sneasel get to work on it.

Before Sneasel can even get close, Merchant has that lock off faster than you can say 'breaking and entering'.

Speaking of breaking and entering, a policeman happens to walk by as the lock hits the ground. "Oy! Whaddaya think yer doin tharr? Ya got permission from Blaine to on in tharr?"

Apparently Cinnabar dabbles in constables instead of policemen.

Merchants blanks. Of course.

"Merchant was sent to repair Fossil Revitalization machine by head of lab. Merchant has permission."

Well...not BLAINE's permission. But he had permission.

(Police Intuiton: 14)

The constable gives Merchant a strange look.

"That may be, but that lock is - WAS - on dere for a reason! Blaine's da only one who can let anyone in tharr, so before you go through them doors and make dis a felony, you should prob'ly talk to 'em first." He shines his flashlight on broken lock, since the sun has almost completely vanished off of the horizon. "And put dat back on!"

Merchant refastens the lock...not like he couldn't re-pick it later now that he's done it once anyway. Seems there would be more interruptions.

Resigning himself, he heads to the Gym to get his permission slip.
