The island of Cinnabar is a small one, but its Trainers are notoriously tough. It's famous for having one of the strongest Gyms around, but the people are also quite hospitable. It's rumored that some research went on here once, but that's a rumor spread the robbers and vandals of the massive Mansion to the north... next to the active volcano. Pokemon Mart

Merchant is singed, quite badly, by the blast, and Basculin is starting to look more like a cooked fish than a regular one. Merchant decides to bring out the big guns, and tosses out Koffing and a pokeball, before speeding away, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire any longer. The ball hits one of the Vulpix, and wiggles a little, but breaks open at the last second; Vulpix A is also dowsed by the Water Gun, and apparently that's all it takes, because it gets knocked back hard. One of the Vulpix eyes the additional combatant defensively... Vulpix A begins running away! Vulpix B glares at Koffing... (Roar will activate at the end of Merchant's turn) [result]11&11,1d20,0,11&1d20[/result] Vulpix C's Confuse Ray on Koffing! Koffing is confused! Vulpix D's Ember on Basculin: [result]4&4,1d20,0,4&1d20[/result] |

Koffing goes flying back into the ball. "Cowardly ball..." Merchant tosses out another pokemon instead, right next to the Vulpix! Magikarp flounders around. Dumb fish. He throws a ball as well at one of them. Vulpix B is stuck by the ball, but it similarly breaks out, just in time to be hit by a Water Gun! The squirt brings the fox to the ground, but it's still got enough energy to run. Vulpix A has fled. Vulpix B is getting away! The ball sails over Vulpix's head, landing in the refuse behind. With two foxes gone, the remaining Vulpix don't really see the flopping fish as a threat. They break off, deciding to pursue different targets! Vulpix B has fled. Vulpix D is gunned down, but similarly, it is not out of the fight. They continue puffing flames at their aggressors...
