Theme Music is now mandatory The torches lining the gravelly passageway abruptly stop, but the cavernous passageway is still seemingly lit. After a minute of shuffling, the source becomes obvious: bio-luminescent crystals are growing in the wall! They are small and round, but give off great amounts of light. The passage carries on for a while under this crystal light, but finally opens up into a bigger room. The room in question is somewhat round and appears centralized, as two other passages split out the back wall and the right wall. The walls are not far from each other, ceiling is rather low, and there is no decor to be had. A few chests line the left wall, but most are open and obviously empty. A few barrels of gear, similar to the factory, sit next to the back passage's entrance. The back passage also is lined with wooden supports, to suggest the look of a mining operation. Stefan makes his way over to the chests and begins searching the ones that aren't open, and even the bottoms of the open ones, for anything that may have been left behind. He shouts over to his more agile partner as he satisfies his curiosity. "So, do you think intelligent pokemon did all this mining? This seems kind of elaborate and advanced, even for species like conkeldurr, doesn't it?" Perception: [result]8&2:5:1,3d6,0,8&3d6[/result] |

Jones is also investigating the items around the room. "It's entirely possible that they continued it as some kind of tradition after the humans that taught them how and that they worked alongside of left. There's really no way to tell for sure until we find some of the inhabitants of this mine. I also need to let that Conkeldurr know that the passage was cleared..." He's carefully inspecting any of the items that they find in order to determine either their use, if not immediately identifiable, or the potential value of the items. Scraping at literally the bottom of the barrel (chest), Stefan manages to find a few stone arrowheads! Neato! The barrels near the door contain 2-3 stone picks each, all carbon copies of the ones Jones has, though none of them feature an embossed Throh on the head. Hidden in one of the barrels, though, is a false bottom compartment, which contains a small, shiny Nugget of pure gold! Lucky! |

"Oh, I think I'm going to like this place." Jones murmurs as he holds the gold up to the light to inspect it. "Hey Stefan, grab a pick, it'll be useful for getting back up, and we may be able to excavate some more valuables from down here." |

Stefan tucks one pick into his belt and one into his backpack after pocketing the arrowheads. His next move is to investigate the crystals. They look valuable, but he is afraid they're dormant pokemon. He considers their appearance to make a guess. Pokemon Education: [result]15&3:2:4:6,4d6,0,15&4d6[/result] |

Jones will also take a look at one of the crystals, to see if he can determine their makeup. Petrology: [result]18&5:1:5:5,4d6,2,18&4d6+2[/result] |

While the crystals are pretty reminiscent of Pokemon like Cryagonal, they show no signs of life as the two manhandle them. They certainly could have been alive at some point, but not anymore! |

Stefan hefts his pick to knock one of them out of the walls while they wait for Owen to catch up. If comes away lit he will try to mine out a few more. |
